I feel like people misunderstand why Fundy feels so negatively about Wilbur, while yes Fundy was the one who “betrayed” Wilbur but from his perspective, his father left him behind and made no efforts to bring him/rescue him. Wilbur’s main concern was Niki’s safety and well-being, not even his own son’s. Fundy’s outburst at Wilbur in pogtopia was because of how Wilbur constantly babied him and never took him seriously. We know this because of the fact that he (and niki) went against him as Coconut2020 in the election. That outburst was the perfect chance for Wilbur to talk to him, show him he cared about him, and bring him to pogtopia’s side, but no. He just let him go. Again. And then the final straw was even after Fundy came to him, was on his side, Pogtopia had a real shot at reclaiming L’manburg, Wilbur still did what no one wanted; he blew up L’manburg. He blew it up because it wasn’t what he hoped it could be. People don’t realize that Fundy (his character) is the only L’manburgian to be born into the nation as opposed to founding/being invited. His father abandoned him, and when he finally reunited with him, his father blew up the nation he said he built for Fundy, the only nation Fundy called home, the only nation Fundy cared about. TLDR; Fundy was left behind by the man who raised him, was constantly never taken seriously by the man who raised him, and then had his home and nation destroyed by the man who raised him, and who said he built that nation to protect Fundy. From Fundy’s perspective, from the perspective of being a son to Wilbur, Wilbur was an awful father.

Personally I think it’s a two way betrayal, Wilbur babied Fundy and didn’t believe in him. He also neglected Fundy for a long time. On the other hand Fundy disowned his father and worked against him causing him to go insane (I know he was a spy the whole time but Wilbur didn’t know). But what really makes Fundy feel betrayed is that after they were reunited Wilbur blew up L’manburg the place he was born and then made Ph1za kill him leaving Fundy all alone. Fundy always talks about Wilbur betraying him because he is thinking the final result. Note: I do mainly watch Fundy streams so I do have a bias

A couple random thoughts Fundy was born inside of the walls of L’manberg that his father built, and was babied for a lot of his life. Wilber never really took him seriously. @@jupix7 I think, on roleplay, he used the characteristics of madness, or the slow path towards it, he slowly lost what he thought was finally his own after a long time of fights in an instant (L'Manberg), in the midle of Fundys plan to gain Jshlatts trust, disowned him (I know it was his plan, but it still hit's Wilbur's character really hard), saw, or thought he saw, everyone happier than when he was there, even after all he had done, got paranoic and started to think that noone was on his side and in the end got to the irrational solution to end all his pain, destroy the source, or in this case, blow it up. Of course when he realised what he had done, he told Phil to kill him, because he knew he would just end up in that cycle again. (I know i look to deep into this, but it makes it more interesting to think of it this way -w-")

I like how the story is now all about a family. Philza is the grandpa, Techno is the older brother that went rogue, Wilbur is the middel brother that lost his mind and died because of it, Tommy is the youngest brother that would do anything to protect his family and there is Fundy, Wilburs son, the next generation. it hurts meeeeeee 1. out of all of this fundy just wants a good dad and thats that yeah? 2. wilbur doesnt even know whats going on... hes trying his best to be a better dad for fundy even though he barely knows what he did wrong (he only remembers happy things)... hes dead... hes tried to protect his son even when fundy went against him (even if he did baby him wilbur and left him to raise fundy BY HIMSELF and thats probably why wilbur babied (idk how to spell it) him.. because he was afraid of loosing him.. and after all that caring for him, fundy went behind his back and went against him... then fundy had the audacity to say that wilbur abandoned him when it was very clear he was being kicked out.. do you think wilbur wanted to leave? the answer is more likely no. And tbh i feel like wilbur had the right to blow up l'manburg since he was the one who built it for fundy but he ended up going behind his back and betraying him ladeedadeeda you know the details. (long story short) fundy is being selfish ghostbur protected and loved him fundy betrayed him everything stupid and unimportant in the middle wilbur dies and becomes ghostbur cause he was mentally unstable fundy decides to say its all ghostburs fault for being a bad dad and abandoning him then says its not just about a love hate relationship when hes clearly said all that because he had a good dad but hes the reason he went insane and died ghostbur tries his best to be a better dad when he doenst know whats happening fundy just continues being selfish a lot more minecraft happens a lot more emotional stuff happens a lot more great acting happens (not really any shorter but yeh) also i dont know all the details but these are the most significant ones also this is mostly opinionated sorry if some of this is wrong my mentally unstable dyslexic self decided to write this at 3.44 AM when i havent slept in atleast 72 hours (coffee, monster energy and lots and lots of cold showers help) therefore is half asleep whilst writing this

lmfao i kinda feel for fundy. wilbur DID made him feel left out causing him to join the enemy side. he thought that by being a spy, he will finally be of help to his father and that he can accept him. all he wanted was his father's validation after all but he was always disregarded. when fundy revealed that he was a spy for pogtopia, wilbur did not even welcome him back, he only mentioned how it will be helpful for the revolution. not to mention wilbur's descent to evil which caused fundy to lose the only thing he can call home. and now ghostbur doesnt just get to show up and act like they had a a great relationship bcs it's unfair for him. although it's not necessarily ghostbur's fault, fundy did seem have a point for feeling that way for him

As a pseudo-outsider to the fandom (plot, characters etc. gained through fast cultural osmosis) who has read both sides: both Wilbur and Fundy are/were playing flawed, human [citation needed] characters. Props to them. From Wilbur's PoV: Fundy was a traitor who joined/aided his enemy (Jschlatt) and 'disowned' his father. Unbeknownst to Wilbur('s character), Fundy was a spy. From Fundy's PoV: Wilbur refused to take Fundy, his son, seriously despite (I think) proving his competence, along with 'losing' Sally, Fundy's mother. Wilbur then refused to talk about it further, especially after the election falling-out, which only made their situation worse. After all of this and a semi-disowning back ('traitor son'), Willbur snapped and blew up l'Manberg, Fundy's only home and the place he grew up. From both sides, both characters were abandoned by the other, with Fundy being the one left alive to voice his side: blaming Wilbur for most everything.
