@ I loved 68 and thought 69 was crap. That said, if the lead dev is saying these changes are necessary & the reaction is expected, then why the revert? Either they were lying/wrong and need to be replaced, or they were right and folded to bullying like a wet paper towel lol. The result is a week of wasted back and forth and a lot of dev time that came out to no actual new content. My point is: if you are going to make a change you truly believe is so necessary it is worth the short term outrage (as they claimed repeatedly), then don’t go back on what you said a week later and expect to have any credibility. I want to play on patch 68, not 69, but the promise was after 69 we would get something much better. If that wasn’t a lie (may have been) then yeah, it’s annoying that the dev is too weak willed to withstand backlash from the community. I won’t call the community short sighted though, since it’s really SDF’s fault for giving no warning, no roadmap, and no explanation of his ‘vision’. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s been revealed that we can spam emojis in discord and review bomb our way out of any change we like, meaning the game is community controlled, which always works out so well.

It’s about what it’s marketed as lol I feel like THATS not that hard to understand. Halo is marketed as a multiplayer arena style shooter and nothing else. That’s what you get so it’s awesome and people who are looking for that find it fun. Dark and darker is marketed as a PvPvE multiplayer first person midevil looter extraction game so when you take out one of the core aspects of the game(looting and the reward/enjoyment/progression) that comes with it you remove a huge allure of the game. It’s not a battle arena PvP game and never has been idk what so hard to understand about removing core game concepts and mechanics would frustrate people

Most of the fun in dark and darker comes from killing geared people and killing boss, making loot useless makes the adrenaline u get from pvp and boss drops disappear. Since squire gear was as good as uniques, there was no point to progress, no risk no reward gameplay just feels boring. Most fights also became a class diff rather than gear, since classes like fighter, rogue, bard rely on being able to tank hits, classes with better base stats/abilities like barb just beat u since gear is pretty much equal.

I have been playing this game since its very first semi public playtest… I miss the old balance. I had what felt like limitless build potential for every class. For example… I could take my archer and make it tanky with high buff duration + magic healing and it felt fun and effective while still being a unique build not many would pursue. I liked when I could hop on any class and build something awesome and unique. Now the game is just clones of the same over powered set pieces. I’ll say it again. The balance having changed so far from where I personally started is why this game will never be fun again. Until it returns to the environment in which I fell in love with… I won’t be playing I will continue to roast this dumpster fire from afar. RIP my personal favorite game. RIP the cycle frontier and worlds adrift… at this rate every gem of a game will inevitably turn to garbage

Everyone fighting in the comments is wild we want the same thing. Which is getting the game back to where we love but, the change overall is lame. Less hp reduces time to kill in this game which is in the wrong direction on where they needed to go. When the game was a wacky silly game in beta testing and it took 10 seconds just to kill a fighter the game was fun everyone in the team fight got a chance to partake in the fights and do something and that was wearing blue and purple gear there was no one taps or any of that nonsense. They have changed the game for the worst absolutely.

I don't have thousands of hours into this game, like streamers and ppl who live in video games. That last patch didn't bug me at all. As a matter of fact it leveled out the playing field for ppl who live IRL. I could now fight playsets with Ruby red set ect. and guess what? They sucked! The ones I fought .(Blame the gear being even because of the patch, that's my point)Because I don't have hours to give to any game, my gameplay is different. I've learned how to fight, when out numbered in stats. So when the stats are even, the skills shine. I can completely understand SDF's vision, but he has to farm whales! Just like any mercantile endeavor. The whales are few but they consume, oh how they consume.

This game isn't hard even a little. Play barbarian W key people and win fights by baiting swings it's really not that hard. If you can't take out a geared player it's says A LOT more about your skill than you think it does. Get better at pvp, nobody liked the gear changes because it made good gear irrelevant

There was one solid thing that patch provided and that was trying bosse s, because you can get hit and not die.. Because there is no option of trying bosses with no consequences again and again it was nice to have a chance to try them. Now the only option to try Lich is to go through 30 mins of gameplay to die in 2 seconds and gg go next 🙃 They should at least add some training mode where gear can be selected and going one mob over and over again.. It will be hard in dungeon anyway as you can hit another team there and the fight will be a lot worse

You can get solid gear pretty cheap even without the new patch.. It was pain in the ass to play with all stats the same as ranger, because i got killed like 10 times by a fighter in White gear. He just ran straight to me and one shot mě, so i created fighter too and guess what, i did not die for 30 levels killing grim barbars and rangers with no passives.. That patch was shit even for me and i'm casual too.. 😕 So just play few no gear games, go to inferno and farm a gear for 2 hours and you will have some fun.. Or just go full phys dmg glass cannon, which is pretty cheap 🤷‍♂️ and fun too 😀
