Hi, problem you have is that it's running way to wet and pull allot of current. Switch to high rake prop maybe 43-45mm, lift the strut to 1 or 2 degres and trim tabs inline with the hull or maybe even higher and it will fly😄
@VetteWay2Fast
@VetteWay2Fast 19 күн бұрын
Yea the strut/tabs are neutral but maybe could raise them a hair. Only thing is I usually run a single 5300 6s pack opposed to the twin 7600 packs in this vid so when I run the lighter pack, it runs pretty dry and bounces around, tough to keep it tracking straight in the wakes. I’ll see what happens when I throw the 1700kv motor in and if it’s still running wet, I’ll raise them up a bit. Appreciate the suggestion!

I have made my own bullet adapters. I use two of the adapters needed and solder a brass screw in between with plumbing solder. Works great, did this with my Dom XLX2, no problems 96 MPH. Good luck keep up the great videoswork.

FIRST! Use a fishing line loop in the antenna through hull to pull the antenna through or a thin gauge wire. Definitely helps. I have had my fair share of bad days on the water, keep your head up, and keep on keeping on! BG4L

Haha you win! Good idea on fishing the antenna, I’ll try that from now on! Surprised how much more juice the hydra puts out, motor barely broke a sweat with the other esc’s so figured I’d swap in this one and it turns the motor into a fireplace lol. Guess that’s why I was having trouble keeping the bj24 down after the switch.

Hello my friend, sad day at the lake. Had one last weekend. Lost one prop spacer washer in the grass at the pond and ruined the whole day, The props I wanted to run were no longer an option. That included the X447 I mentioned I would run in another of your vids. Hobby shop fixed my aerial. They just exposed the exact length of antenna ( 31mm ) for 2.4 Ghz to work, this was according to them. I happily took their word for it. Trust you found out what the cooling issue was. So, Merry Christmas to you.

Thanks, that’s a bummer. Stinks losing parts in the field that you need. Yea that x447 is a fast prop with amazing take off, runs a little warm but with the right setup, will be really fun. Hopefully this motor I just put in and smaller prop helps on the temps

Wow, that Dominator was boiling water running that hard 😬 I take the bad boat days as a lesson for the future & funny you mention the motor bullet dilemma. That Spektrum 120A has 5.5mm bullets that I thought were 6 🙄 ..now they both have 6mm and married with heat shrink 😅👍 better days ahead!

Haha yea I was running my own steam ship boilers lol. Crazy the same motor would run cool with one esc and then burn up on another esc. Always fun though!

Dam bud! Sorry, that happened to you! I have smoked a few myself for pushing it beyond its limits! Thats when I didn't know very much! I have learned so much just from problems and figuring them out! I figured out most of my knowledge myself, I look at other videos for reference. I just like doing it that way! I retain the info better!! Good luck on the next motor! Bigger is always better! You taught me something as well I appreciate you taking the time to entertain us 🤪

A 12v water pump would help

Yea a pump would help if standing still but would add a little weight. Will keep trying to find a combo of kv to volts for that sweet spot. Appreciate the suggestion tho!

Man it’s crazy you’re having so many heat issues with the same exact setup I use on my spartan. I can run my 45 1.9 pitch cnc prop wide open till packs are done and never have an issue. Never sees over 130

The ose 150/2200kv combo? Yea that combo didn’t run to bad, 65mph with 130 or so on esc and 100 on motor. I’ll keep trying but definitely odd it got that hot with just an esc swap

All right another hard day of boat learning it looks like that the boat wasn't getting any water through it smoke was coming out of the water outlet.. how much time are you running full throttle on that boat you only should do 3 to 5 seconds if you're running at 10 seconds you're getting to the limit of pulling too much current through and everything starts to meltdown ... Always full trigger for seconds not minutes.
@VetteWay2Fast
@VetteWay2Fast 18 күн бұрын
True on throttle management but for oval and basher setups, oval in particular, they are meant to be held full throttle for a 2 minute run. I’m working on finding a setup that will accommodate prolonged throttle for a minute or so. I’ll keep at it and think some of the problem was one pickup being out of the water on the consistent hard turns as Peter mentioned in a previous comment. Going to switch to the rudder pickup, smaller prop and lower kv motor and hope for the best!
@scottwhizz2733
@scottwhizz2733 17 күн бұрын
You got to get a low KV motor ,high voltage and run it under voltage 6 s motor running at 3 and 4S 8 s motor running at 6 and 4S and it won't get hot it shouldn't get hot unless you're over propping it..

That sucked, both 😡...Did i get it right (forgot) you run a 3674 2200kv in it? I mean the x8 is a solid esc for that boat, so nothing wrong with that. Also i run 6500, so dont see a problem in bit bigger lipo's. Probably cooling or to big prop (which makes sence because new esc gives more power)... Just buy a new and better suiting motor and it will become better and makes you forget this run hopefully fast...
@VetteWay2Fast
@VetteWay2Fast 19 күн бұрын
@@peteroosterhoff8850 Haha yea, not one of the better runs. Just swapped in a 2000kv 3682 from the impulse and will try an x442 tomorrow. The smaller prop coupled with the lower kv motor should help. (Hopefully)
@peteroosterhoff8850
@peteroosterhoff8850 19 күн бұрын
@VetteWay2Fast i thought about something else btw. The way you run it in this video, corner after corner, etc, are pickups not above water or at least give less cooling? I don't have these pickups btw so can't tell, but could be. And then running it hard with a big prop...🤔 I personally would put a 4082 in it but... Can't guarantee its better but has to work bit less hard. Also comes stock with 4082 if i'm correct. Or make it MUCH faster, then you need to slow down bit for corners...😁
@VetteWay2Fast
@VetteWay2Fast 19 күн бұрын
@ Interesting, I hadn’t thought about that as the pickups are a hair higher than the hull but very well could be. On a full bank, the outer pickup’s most definitely not getting water. I’ll move the motor pickup to the rudder. Very astute observation man, that is most likely the culprit as I wouldn’t think just swapping the esc would bring the temps from a stable 101 or so to over 200.

@VetteWay2Fast That's just me, trying to analyze what could have happened or might be wrong to help. So you hopefully get out off it what you hope. I needed to figure out a lot off things myself but that really can be annoying and disappointing. Became club member but these guys didn't know much about brushless boats. So later on started reading forums and for instance started to follow for instance B and some other boaters, and helped with some things too. But you will get were you want, just keep on trying and experimenting. Motor is now probably most important choice. And i run indeed cooling in rudder and second pickup is also further back on rudder (old setup from oxidian). Maybe bit less clean, but works fine, and thats most important... I blow off the cooling lines when not extra secured, so the pressure is sufficient i would say.

@ That’s the best way to be, question everything, improve when possible and strive for the most efficient/effective way possible. Not only pertaining to boats, but life in general. While we’re on the subject of most effective, do you think two lines converging into one would generate more water pressure or do you think the lower flowing side would basically be stopped by the higher flowing side? (Basically rudder and transom pickup converging to one line) Always wondered this and been meaning to test it with twin bottles hanging upside down and seeing if the same volume of water split into the two bottles converging to one exit would empty quicker than the same liquid in a single bottle.
