The secret to this game is to turn off elite controls. The alternate controls work perfect. O is your on ball screen and L2 or take charge. is your off ball screen. O is also your double team on defense. USE THOSE! Isolation is done by pressing L1 and X ! if you see a name followed by isolation! if not while in that play menu press R1 twice and then youll see it. (Its either one or the other). When charging the basket from a long distance like after a steal around at the free throw line you might get put in a stupid post animation. To get out of that weird post animation you gotta do a spin or push the right and left stick in the direction you want to move. Or just pass out. To avoid that post animation all together try pressing both sticks toward the basket in conjunction with R2 (LET GO OF R2 IF YOU PLAN ON PASSING OUT OR ELSE YOULL DO A ALLY OOP). The Second Secret to this game is you can shoot in traffic like it’s nobody’s business. Its all about how long you hold square. For off balance shots like fades youll have to hold X longer. If you want to see how you screw up your timing the instant replay will show you the shot meter and what you did. Also ally oops in this game are great there done by pressing R2 and X. Passing in this game is the best honestly. You can ally oop to your self like in 2K and if you angle your ally oop right you can also pass to other players Banking from off the backboard or just lob over defense. If your passing to someone going to the paint it will always be a bounce pass and it tends to go right through peoples legs. R1 and your right stick is how you flashy pass. Since your not that fast to start out with you can pass out on a breakaway and look like your jason Williams. I recommend adding a dribble move with it to. Also you only have to hold R1 to select who you want to pass to not L1 and R1 like stated. Another thing you dont have to always press is R2 and square at the same time to dunk. If your charging or under the rim it will dunk just by pressing square. R2 will do a fancy dunk though and (try your best to push both sticks towards the basket with R2 when tryin to dunk because sometimes it will be a jump shit your not prepared for . TWO last thips sometimes holding R2 helps you steal which is done with square . And Its almost pointless trying to do hop steps or euro steps they are hard. You can do a spin post up deal by holding L2 and doing a spin dribble move which might be useful. All in all those elite controls can go to hell. You will be ballin once you turn them off trust me, and the glitches are always hilarious. Another thing i really love about this game is (you can edit and save replays) like settings markers to shorten the portion you want to save and pressing the edit button gives you the option to change the playback speed. And theres some set cameras and free cam as well as the usual following just the the ball or following players. you can take snap shots as well.
