I'm from Alexandria, But that women saying talking murders and rape, that is literally an insane to say. that stuff doesn't happen and I can only imagine that if you're going after midnight in a ghetto, and even then you wouldn't be just hanging around in ghetto after midnight. That stuff is unreasonable lol what I can say is there several layers of thinking and perception. I'll be the first to admit that Egypt had a huge problem with Harrasment but it's nothing more than catcalling and even that has been decreasing since women started speaking up about it and filing reports an stuff. there's a lot of difference in thinking between classes and age. The old generation is still stuck in the part of women need to cover up and have a guy with them to be safe and that was true at some point. but even then if you're going out in a public place with a lot of people out and about. wearing whatever is completely fine within reason just to avoid looks. Other than that in more like wealthy areas girls literally wear what the tourists you mentioned wear and it's normal> Honestly from very limited experience as a Man, you can wear whatever you want within reason and nothing devolves more than catcalling or looks depending on where you are in the city. Hello, I am from Alexandria and I'm a girl first I hope you enjoyed your stay. Alexandria is amazing, especially in winter but in summer it's so awful and loaded with people that are not from Alexandria Look about the woman She is trying to be protective. All Egyptian mothers are like that. She is like, don't let her walk like that because maybe some bad guy or drug user can follow you and steal your money and stuff. But that's impossible. You can wear anything you want. You are a tourist. It's up to you. No one can tell you what to wear. I don't recommend Airbnb, especially in Alexandria but in Cairo Hurghada, it's okay. Search for hotels It is better here... I hope you enjoy it and I hope u will visit again

We can divide Alexandria to 2 types of places 1st are the popular one which are consist of buildings for poor people which are far from the sea 2nd are the places of rich people, historical places and the places where the tourists visit, which are near from the sea . The women who told you that words are almost from the popular places which no girl or woman wear such this clothes ( The culture) of them think that the reasons of harassment because of the kind of clothes that the girls wear, so they have to cover all parts of the body which can attract the men and makes them existed . So there are many believes and cultures in Egypt I hope that this situation couldn't made a bad experience in your visit, and I wish to see you again. Next time have a walk with Alexandrian guy or girl and you will feel better ❤
