Just saw it at the Festival du Cinéma Espagnol in France this morning (FCEN24). What a masterpiece ! I was delighted by the colors, the voices, the music, the details… As a Brazilian, I recognized many details of everyday life and was surprised to hear Caetano Veloso, Milton Nascimento, Gilberto Gil… I was definitely not expecting this amount of work and got very emotional. It was also the first time I saw animation being used for a documentary movie. Remarkable !

The story is an important one and deserves to be told. But I don't think I can sit through more than a minute or two of this style of animation. It's too "flickery" and badly drawn, and even at the length of this trailer, hard to watch. 2 or 3 frames per second is not enough. It's too bad - the man deserved better than this.
