Update: Every plant has shown some sign of recovery except for my tokeninsis sundews but those are easily replaceable. The gardeners didn’t spray the plants intentionally, it was the overspray that got them. They still should’ve been careful though. I’m just gonna cut back all the dead leaves that were hit with whatever pesticide that was used that way the plants can look more tolerable and let the new leaves grow. Everything’s fine now. Still very bummed though.

I felt this in my soul. The apartment hired contractors to paint the exterior. They told us it's okay to leave everything outside as they'll be using tarps to cover our plants. The contractors even stopped me from moving my plants in and reassured me all was well on the day of. All was not well and all my plants got painted, and that had adverse affects on them. I was big mad. It's so sad to see no courtesy was taken with your plants either. :/ I hope somehow some of your plants pull through. You put in so much work and care in your garden!

As someone who takes care of parks in my city: don't spray plants that big, just pull them. If you really want to spray, prune down first and never spray in the wind. Amateurs.

You should definitely cause a stink with your landlord over this, what a nightmare. I mean, if they sprayed your dog or accidentally broke something they'd have to pay in some form, that's total idiocy. Hope they bounce back and you get an easier time (and more pay) at work.

I related to every bit of this! The exact same thing just happened to me last week at my apartment complex. The guy sprayed my aloe plant I've had for going on 8 years. Sooo damn frustrating!

you might me able to talk to your apt manager about compensation. it doesn't fix the time and energy lost, but at least you can maybe recover the financial loss is replacing them. come prepared. make up list of the replacement cost, review your lease terms. get the conversation in writing, especially any promises they make to compensate you.

I wonder since you do this as a second job and can be a source of income, that you could get some compensation. It’s not like it was a random plant, these plants are almost like your job. They kill your plants which means they take away your income. I feel your plant pain and working a double pain. Let’s just hope the overtime (if any) will help. Having tried that with my own plants, it doesn't work. So many landscaping companies just aren't paid enough to give a damn about their jobs. Hell, I even watched one guy purposefully run a weed-whacker over my herb gardens.
