You are 100% correct! I'm a Black Guy (Nigerian decent from the UK) and I lived in Thailand and The Philippines for 6 months this year. Most of the "dirty looks" I got were from foreigners Russians, other Caucasians and some Chinese. Even when travelling around, some couldn't believe that there was a Black Guy in Business Class when they were flying Economy LOL! On the other hand most of the locals in these places were very respectful. They stared sometimes because there were curious (in PH for example), but always treated me with respect and were happy I was visiting their country. My experience in Asia has been largely very positive.

Facts bro. The sad part is that some people will try to downplay it like it is not happening.

Thank you for visiting Cambodia. It's interesting that you mentioned Singapore, because in the 60s, Phnom Penh was known as the Pearl of Asia, and Singaporean leader back then visited the city and said to the king that he'd like Singapore to be like Phnom Penh somedays. A decade later, unfortunately Cambodia went through a genocide regime and Phnom Penh became a ghost town. Right now, it's quite messy in some places, but hopefully, the city could regain its status once more someday.

I have nothing against your opinions, but people don't always have to smile all the time regardless of their race. You see less of the positivity if you keep focusing on the negativity. Have a nice journey !

While I respect your opinion I’ll have to stand by what I said. Certain ppl always giving others the dirty looks and that’s precisely what I’m referring to, those who know KNOWS what I’m talking about. While that might not be your experience, it is our experiences. Thanks for stopping by.

@xelleoxelas1995 Respectfully I disagree. Its not just the no smiling, "dirty looks" are a real thing, perhaps you haven't experienced it. But as a Black Guy you notice these things, for example, people automatically checking for their wallets and bags when you make eye contact with them like you're all of a sudden going to rob them or something. And the "what on earth is 'this person' doing here" look. Its definitely real. This is not playing the race cxrd. Its actually a thing... some people sometimes have an instinctual response when they see you, its either ignorance or prejudice (or both) or some superiority complex. Who knows, buts its a thing.
