One must be careful in how one goes about showing others the truth of themselves. Often it's buried deeply beneath layers of self delusion, trauma and long held perceptions of self based on how they wish to be seen. It's not uncommon in my experience for those being seen clearly to react poorly from a sense of unexpected vulnerability.
