I have been an English teacher for almost 10 years. I tell my students that it is very, very rare for a native speaker to laugh at mistakes a non-native speaker makes. We realize how difficult English is to learn, and most English-speakers appreciate the effort you are making when you are practicing the language. As I tell my students, don't worry about mistakes because that is how we learn, and relax and have fun.

How elegantly you express things!! I am spellbound to have your vidoes. People seek out excuses to make fun of ourselves. Even some teachers of our schools do this stupid things. How the educated teachers can do this shitty things, i do not know. They are academically educated but refrained from self education. I also distinctly embarrassed by my classmates at my school. I remember, I once pronounced the word 'done' as 'don'. I also know it is a matter of laughing. But they couldn’t stop myself, I continually strode ahead and trying my level best to make changes. I am fond of your videos and i regularly watch them, that helps to make changes and deliver positive energy.

I was in 6th standard at that time and my father's friend was also living with us( we both were living together in the same house but now my uncle is married and he shifted to other apartment ) so one day he suddenly asked me a question , how to say this in English ( main Delhi mein rehti hu)and my father was also there at that time ( they both were having conversation) and I really don't know how to translate this in English , I had no idea about it and obviously that was an embarrassing situation for me and for my father too. This is so relatable. I was born and raised in the Philippines. There is this notion that if you are fluent in english, you are intelligent and well off. After passing IELTS, etc and moving to the UK as a nurse, I have realised that English people really don't pay attention to grammar and spelling as much as we do. Of course you have to be understandable especially if working as a professional or if you are a student. But I have not met any colleagues or friends and family who have laughed at me when I did not know what to say, if my spelling were wrong or if my grammar wasn't correct. In fact most of the people I have encountered adores how amazing it is that I can speak fluent English and Filipino + 2 other regional dialects. Don't let other people discourage you or hurt your confidence when you are learning how to speak in English. Just keep on practicing and you will get there.

I can definitely relate myself to 4:38 Aleena. Some teachers back then were so mean even to 8-10 year old children. I guess it's the same way they were brought up by their teachers or parents. The only difference between us and them is that we want to change things and they did not want to. I prepared for the GMAT and the teacher I had in an institute here was so rude. Instead of building confidence he used to break the confidence level of the entire batch. I quickly signed up for an online course (Magoosh) based in the US at 1/4th of the price. Let me tell you it was the best decision of my life. I learned so much from there and the teachers were so helpful via e-mail and phone. you won't even need their help via e-mail..the course is so amazing. Teachers of India should learn something from the teachers abroad and from teachers like *Aleena* who are so passionate about teaching and helping others. The level of dedication they have towards helping students is unheard of in a country like India. Most teachers in our country don't even like to teach or don't have the patience required to be a teacher. That is why they snap if you ask them to explain something more than once. Teachers abroad are entirely different .They will literally pour their blood on you to help you explain something you do not understand without getting tired or angry. They love what they do. They love to teach.

Speaking part is my most favorite though I love reading and listening too now I hate writing part just because it takes time only that's why I hate no big or major reason behind it. Like take an example, I want to tell you my feelings what I want to tell you but I can't contact you personally that's why I'm writing, but I don't have any another option to do so... Now I'm gonna tell you one more thing that is this is the VERY FIRST CHANNEL WHERE I POST COMMENTS AND WRITE TOO MUCH 'COZ I KNOW MY EFFORTS are not going in vein, you read these comments and I' m improving I can see my efforts towards speaking English. That's all from my end. And I do update my daily tracker like a good student 😊😊😊

Sometimes I just hate my country due to these inferior people around me :(( People dislike when I try to speak English in a proper accent and also don't like me when I speak Hindi instead of English, I don't know what I'm supposed to do around these people?

Out of the four things that you mentioned my favourite thing is listening and least favourite is writing because whenever i decide to write something i either could not get the proper idea what to write, what are the areas to cover, how to start and end or i could not arrange my idea in a more interesting or attactive way

Yes, many people enunciate wrong grammar In front of me also, but I never mock them, because no one knows how tender one's heart can be, it can ruin them very badly, so instead of making them feel ashamed, let life be their teacher, and it will teach things better than us
