I don't know how they did it, but the happy-sad song is their trademark. Super Trouper is another good example.

I recently discovered that the lyrics to Super Trouper are about Bjorn missing Lena whilst away with the band. It made me think that the recording of the album, must of been a horrible time for Agnetha 😢
@TheFridaFan Жыл бұрын
@@davidwilding7405 I heard that, too. I always thought that Lena looked a bit like Agnetha. I love Björn and don't blame him for the divorce like so many others do, but I do think it must have stung her a bit. How could it not?
@davidwilding7405 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFridaFan As an Agnetha fan, I don't place any blame on him either. I don't see Agnetha as the victim. She made the decision to leave, and has said many times since, it was the right decision. I do feel sorry for her in the fact that she never found someone to really love again though. At least Frida found her soul mate, even if fate cruelly took him away too soon. 😥

I heard this like 40 yrs. ago when I was 10 yrs. old. If you listen closely that bass in the background is absolutely beautiful , it's sick! That bass is a masterclass in bass playing , wow !

I'm so glad to see you again, with more reaction to ABBA songs "Knowing me knowing you" (1976) is one of ABBA's most famous heartthrob songs The lyrics are strong and raw (some say there is a preview of the couple conflicts between the blonde singer Agnetha & guitarist Björn) And it has a powerful chorus on Agnetha & Frida, and a nice melody These is an excellent official video, it shows the four of them in separation situations, and plays with the images of the trios I agree with you The part that stands out the most is the appearance of the image of Agnetha almost whispering as a reflection of Frida's main voice "Knowing me knowing you" was five weeks in a row at #1 in the UK, and one of them coincided with the #1 of "Dancing Queen" on the Billboard. (Just this week of April 9, 1977, 46 years ago, ABBA was #1 in the U.S. and U.K. with two different songs from the same album) "Knowing me knowing you" is one of their hits that ABBA recorded in spanish at 1980, with the tittle: "Conociéndome, Conociéndote", with an official video in spanish too It's part of their album in spanish language "Gracias por la música" (1980) ABBA recorded in spanish after the colossal success of "Chiquitita" (1979) in Latin American countries I hope to see you in next reaction to ABBA My best regards to You from Buenos Aires Argentina 🇦🇷 South América

side comment If I saw well on your channel, so far you have 6 reactions to ABBA: Waterloo Mamma mia Fernando Knowing me knowing you The name of the game Chiquitita (hope I don't miss anyone) You already did five of the nine #1s that ABBA had in the UK (Chiquitita was #2, but is one of ABBA's top three world hits, along with Dancing Queen and Fernando) You still have four more #1s left, all of them fantastic: Dancing queen Take a chance on me The winner takes it all Super trouper and returning to "Knowing me knowing you" The fact of combining sad and melancholic lyrics with optimistic music and catchy choruses is perhaps the greatest skill and characteristic of ABBA's music. and "S.O.S." (Their second worldwide hit after Waterloo) stands out clearly in that category of breakup songs and surely its maximum expression is found in "The winner takes it all" (voted by British ABBA fans as their best song)

Thank you for reacting to my suggestion. It is my ABBAsolute number one favourite of theirs. Every word you said is every emotion I feel about this song. They did that "ah ha" thing through a few of their songs. Loving your journey with them.

Indeed, this is an extra ordinary song. One of the best in my opinion. I suggest you watch ABBA from a real concert, why not ”I’ve been waiting for you” from Australia 1977 or ”The Way Old Friends Do” or ”Hole in My Soul” from Wembley 1979. ”Summer Night City” and ”Does Your Mother Know” from Wembley possible aswell. These are maybe not any of their bigger hits, but you will see how great they were LIVE! Cheers! 🎉

They have number of these "happy-break-up-songs", like The winner takes it all, SOS, When all is said and done, etc. But there`s one exception; The day before you came. It is sad. Haunting and sad and absolutely beautiful song. Please do react to all of these I mentioned.
