The beginning was like vultures circling a corpse... (it is an estate sale... so I guess they removed the bodies first)... brutal...

I went to an estate sale recently, it looked like a one in a life time type sale. Just so much stuff, vintage toys, video games, clothes etc. I got there 2 hours early and I was number 51 in line. I turned around and went home...
@Cvgrule1984842 жыл бұрын
I know the feeling. I went to one sale and was told that a few people got there at 1 a.m. to be first in line.
@ReadySetResell2 жыл бұрын
That stinks. Yeah with sales that look good people will get there extra early and in a lot of cases there will be a waitlist hours before the sale begins.
@storiesthroughkeepsakes78192 жыл бұрын
Great footage! It definitely was a competitive sale. All the video games sold within the first hour. I was the one that called your name out at 32 seconds and then checked you out at the register 😁

Thanks! It was a great sale and big props to everyone helping run it. Very friendly and smooth checkout. I’ll defiantly be back to your future sales 😁.

Dude I recently came across your channel and I love it! I've never come across organized estate sales like these up here in NH (just regular yard sales) but I hope the trend makes it my way. I started my channel last month and I aim to have a similar style as you, thank you for the motivation!

Being first in line doesn't guarantee you get everything. Once had a guy first in line and I was second. We both ran downstairs into the man cave and he made a wrong turn into the basement. I went straight to all the vintage shirts and took the whole pile. But somtimes being first with a bunch of buddies they will block the entire lot within seconds it is all gone.

Some great pickups. I'd have picked up essentially everything on the desk in that music room, lots of potential profit there.

electronics that you aren't familiar with at all.....and maybe no way of testing, how do you list them? not tested? then how do you know how much to list them for if you don't know if they work?
@ReadySetResell2 жыл бұрын
Test them the best you can. Even if that means you just plug it in and see if lights come on. Otherwise you just list them as untested and accept returns in case they don’t work. As for pricing it’s just like everything else. You just look up similar comps and determine your price based on past sold listings.

I would have been torn between looking for the video game stuff or jewelry. I probably would have headed for the jewelry as soon as I got in the door. It doesn't hurt to look through jewelry. I went to a local estate sale 2 weeks ago and while everyone else went every which way in the house, I was the only one who went to the jewelry table. After looking at a few pieces, I asked how much for the entire table of jewelry. I made an offer of $50 and they took it. When i got home I found a bunch of 14k gold earrings mixed in. I ended up selling the gold for $950 to a local gold buyer, and I still have over $1000 in costume jewelry still to list. Also, vintage colognes and perfumes. People overlook it and ignore it, but there is good money in it. Remember, I was the one who told you about the clip on earrings, and look how well that worked out for you!

Could be anything from just wanting to sell stuff, to they moved to a smaller place, to them passing away. There’s a bunch of reasons why someone might hire a company to sell their stuff.
@storiesthroughkeepsakes78192 жыл бұрын
I worked the sale featured in the video. In this case the homeowner and his family were moving out of state and decided to only take a small fraction of stuff with them.
