We still have quite a few good old fashioned pubs across the country and they are what a pub should be. A social meeting place with good beer, good atmosphere, warm fire and a dog or two just for good measure 👌

When I was in my 20s (30 yrs ago) the local pub here in Yorks had a piano, a handful of blokes would take it in turns to belt out tunes that everyone knew on a thurs/fri night, the whole pub would be singing along, smell of bitter, fag smoke and wet tweeds. Many Brits today don't know what a tight-knit community feels like.

Great Terry! I lived in Ongar until I was nearly 7. I went to nursery group in Budworth Hall just across the road from that pub! Just along from there, there is now a Sainsbury's. Yes, dogs are allowed in most pubs here in the UK unless they are serving food but I have actually seen dogs in pubs that serve food as well and the pub sometimes even supplies bowls of water and some nice tasty treats for the animals too. Thank you for watching. All the boogie best. Terry 🤠

Nice footage of an old timey proper pub that is so proper and also a very cool pub. Big beer handles at the bar. "Oh! The essence. Got to love the ragtime style of music created by our great pianist Terry Miles often too keep the Ivory's humming along with the singing crowd filled of joyfulness. A lot of sing along with a cool crowd stuff as well. Everyone knows the lyrics it seems. My thoughts. Well that is how it's done. I would say. Thanks! Sir Terry. Fine old boozer. Used to pop in there during the 1970s as a teen and real ale fan . The London Transport Bus 175 ran out there from Dagenham . Later by motorcycle when the bikers met up with the Vincent Owners Club . Was always packed out onto the street in the summer . Glad to see it still open and hope the locals appreciate it and keep it alive .

I used to live in Chipping Ongar as it was called then in 1960 when I was 12 years old and I remember the Cock Tavern. This is the first time I have seen inside it so I'm wondering if it has changed much since then. It's nice to see that the Budworth Hall is still there.
