I mean, it often happens with people in the entertainment industry. At the very least, being someone who's been on the receiving side of celebrity exploitation one should hope she'd be a protector for new talents, if the industry lasts that long. I subbed to Dokibird the day she returned. Unfortunately our schedules don't really mesh and I rarely get to watch her streams. Every month when I go through my repeat payments I think about canceling because I don't really watch her that much. I am really happy with my decision not to do that as I've taken the stance that my sub is more a show of support then a payment for services rendered. Sadly a LOT of Vtubers seem to be. Think about it: young, ambitious, inexperienced people with bad work/life balance. Vtubing as an industry attracts this type of people predominantly, and streamers in general are absolutely infamous for overworking themselves. The adults in the room, managers, should be acting like sports coaches and look after the health of the talents, but there is little established culture or institutions in the industry, what little there is is based on the infamously exploitative idol industry that chews up young people and spits them out after two or three years and it's mostly based in Japan, a country where both labor protection laws and mental health awareness are a total joke. It's an explosive combination and it's frankly astounding how *few* cases like Doki's there have been.

On the Doki situation: This is why sometimes when you're hiring someone for a high up position, you have to make sure you contact their previous workplaces in order to get a better understanding of the person, and if they were in a management position, see if you can ask people that had worked under them as well (in this case, it was the inexperience, and she will learn from it im sure) On the Scarle situation: Sheesh, i swear Twitch and KZbin get more and more trigger happy on them bans On the Niji and Yab situation: I'm just happy that for once they are getting on the case in the correct way this time.
