This game was my solace, my hiding place, my getaway from a home that was racked by mental illness. My dad was emotionally absent for years, and I thought I was always going to be alone. I would get on Minecraft, though, and for however long I played, it was as if…I was finally home. Many years later, I find myself thinking about this game quite a bit, even as I’ve grown up in life and in my love of Jesus. I joined a Minecraft anarchy realm a few days ago, I stayed away from everyone and kept to myself. One Minecraft day, I saw two wolfs, and decided to feed them. I didn’t tame them to fight players but to have company on my trip away from home. I took them far till I reached a two large mountains. We settled there temporarily, as I collected ore. While I was mining I fed both of them, having forgot that they could breed. The little dog was cute so I fed it too. When I returned home, I returned with eight mature dogs by my side. Later on, two baby dogs were born in my base. They never got to grow up tho…One Minecraft night a person in the realm went on a killing spree and they found my base. They ambushed me, bringing me down to 3 hearts. I waked up all of my dogs and ate food with a shield in hand. The dogs dispatched the player with easy( it made me proud of them, and grateful). Unfortunately, the story doesn’t end there. The player I killed was cursed, cursed with the loot of the partner they slayed before raiding my base. At the time it seemed like a betrayal. though I had my suspicions, I quelled them and gave the partner he betrayed a chance, giving them my coordinates to try and help them back on their feet. Moments later I saw a gamertag outside of my underground base. I left the base to greet him, but he wasn’t there. When I checked the area, I found a hole that dug right into my base. It was clear to me that they didn’t come with peace in mind. I re-entered my base with caution. I wasn’t going to let them destroy it. I searched the area and found them hiding near my bed. They readied their cross bow, but I didn’t want to fight. I shielded and shook my head in disappointment at them. In my head, I began to see the players that raided me as rats. I was snapped out of that thought when I saw him killing my dogs. They all fought bravely, but they were helpless against the Diamond cladded raider. When I saw a baby dog die, a switch flipped in my head and I attacked the raider in a fit of rage, but my weapon was being blocked by their shield. I realized that they weren’t here for my base…they were here for me. I watched my last dog fight to protect me, and in a surge of emotion, I ran, fleeing as it bought me time. I hated that I let them die without doing something. It wasn’t long before the raider caught up to me, I fled to the forest, dodging their arrows, using trees as cover. In those moments I thought about all the things I could’ve done differently that could’ve changed this out come, but it didn’t matter because my death was the final result. My next action wasn’t revenge, but to bury the dogs that I hadn’t even gotten the chance to name… This all happened in one day btw.

Brings back a lot of memories. When I first got saved, I remember putting up Minecraft signs sharing the gospel with my friends….. it was partly heartbreaking at times, because a lot of my friends on Minecraft rejected me and didn’t want to speak to me anymore after I shared the gospel….. but, it was while I was playing Minecraft, and after I’d been saved, I realized the beauty of God’s creation, and the beauty of creating things too. I’d listen to Minecraft soundtracks while looking around at the world around me, that for so long I was disinterested in, and I thanked God for both my salvation and the world He has given us. Human interaction in real life has become sweeter and sweeter to me…. Whereas before I wanted almost nothing to do with religion or people…. I thank God for touching a gamer’s heart like mine 😁❤️

Hey friend, I have been struggling with looking into the future too. I am a very nostalgic person and I always feel life can never be as simple and easy again. But through time I learned, it is okay to keep and reflect on the good memories, because they are the little angels in your heart that remind you to stay pure and hopeful. But don't fall into the trap of being stuck in the past, because sometimes they can interfere with you from enjoying the present and creating new memories. I think what helps me is to not think back too much but to also build connections and friendships with people who can go through this beautiful life with you on earth. Last and DEFINITELY not least, when you feel stuck or down, it is a good idea to first read the bible, because there you will find truth to all your problems, and don't forget, God wants you to be like a child, who trusts in God, fate, and is also open to any challenges ahead (Matthew 18:2-5). I hope this helps, I am still a freshman in high school exploring what life has to offer instead of doing stupid tik tok dances and getting involved in stupid dramas.

I'm not a cristian, actually, since my 13 years as I lived into an toxic family and abusive behaviors, I started to believe that there isn't any god, but, after some long time (I'm 22 now), I started to walk into a church with my father, I still have my questions about life and I'll not say that now I truly believe that there is some entity behind all of us, looking for us, but, it's really confortable to hear some words about our vallues as a person and how god, if he exists, believes deeply in us, in our capacity of love, and hope, and it was really nice finding this video out of nowhere to remember those things. I'd like to say something different from the regular Christians that are commenting about surrendering yourself to God: Just. Read. The. Gospels. Simple as that. Grab a bible, flip through the pages until you reach Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Read it with the best of your abilities, with whatever timeframe fits you and I'm sure that, if you're honest and consistent, you'll find Jesus at your side (He's already waiting, sorry for the spoilers). It's a first step that must people don't even consider, but I dare to say that it is the only step that's going to really matter in your life. It's your most precious and important decision.
