I had the same issue a few weeks ago with the ants and a more natural approach would be to get a spray bottle, pour 1/4 vinegar, a little bit of dish soap and fill the rest with hot water and spray on the areas they’re coming in through. Your baseboards, where your counter tops meet your walls. And another approach would be to get some boiling water, find the ant holes near your house and pour the boiling water into them. It’ll highly reduce the amount of ants you guys have, while protecting yourself, Bart, fawny and Taika from any harsh chemicals!

It gets rid of the pheromones that the ants leave behind when they come in so it leads all of the other ants right in. Just make sure you let it sit for a few minutes and then wipe it up after.

ants hates salt. try salt as a line of defense inside the house or outside perimeter of the house. or get ant bait and stick them around the perimeter. this will keep them out for several months.

Hey Geo, with the ant situation they could be looking for water and shelter because of the fires near you. I’m from Canberra Australia and we had fires over the hill like you at Christmas and ants kept coming in in rows covering our living room and kitchen. I use an ant shield like powder or pebbles that u pour and line against the outside of the walls of your house. And leave it and it’ll block out all the ants (20-50$) I’ve moved into a house in a location kind of like you guys and every summer or winter, loads of ants would come out into the pantry, counters, floors, bathrooms, etc For 3 years I’ve been dealing with it but finally I got the outdoor ant block and it WORKS in a few days

Running in the morning brisk air is always good another thing that helps is getting dressed if even for just morning so your body heat can stay at that warm level, another reason why that running helps. If you're lucky enough to have certain things around you open at that time running a couple errands is helpful as well.

Usually food, so you have to remove what they want. With a little kid it becomes more important to super clean. We just had ants get into our house and they never use to, we started cleaning extra and they're less and less.

Make your own natural insect repellent...mix peppermint oil with dish soap. Also clean with it (mop) they don't like it...it works for spiders too. Yes due to heat, earth movement. I always get them when it's going to rain or earthquake 😳

I had a lot of issues with my skin (all over my face and body) when I was around Taika’s age and I now deal with eczema on my hands. I use prescription eczema cream when I need to, but I regularly use Baby Dove sensitive ( non fragranced) lotion. That keeps the eczema at bay most days.
