I've never thought about dead sticking triggering a scavenger bite vs predator, but it makes sense. More to think about in why things work. Thanks, Jeff.

There are no negative cues to dissuade them from eating when it’s just sitting there.

I had the pleasure to fish the Susquehanna, for a couple of days, last week (from MI). I was hoping for a power fishing bite, like my past October visits to the Susky - spinnerbait, grass piece (JDM), jerkbait or osakana slide. Almost everything came on a dead stick fluke, scented jerk shad, and hula stickz. Others, in our group, were nailing them with a finesse swimbait. The highlight of my trip was finding a small 3 ft depression, with an undercut in a sunken ledge. The Smallies were loaded under there! I only found that by reading the water and fishing the water disturbance. Thank you for your content!

I’ll probably do some designated instructional paddling videos that explain how to do it and how it helps with the primary task at hand: fishing.

Jeff, how did you add the eyes to the Jerkshads? Crazy glue or glue and dip in plastic? Is there a special glue that works for the elaztech ? Thanks in advance. Always like your tackle crafting videos! Tight lines🎣

It’s their bibs. Not the “Champion” bibs, but the other one. There’s a bootie foot that you wear boots over.

Jeff, I’ve seen you talk on the 2/0 grip pin for the 5” Scented Jerk Shad. What size do you use for the 7”??
@TheLittleStuff13 күн бұрын
Usually the 3/0.

Hey Jeff great stuff! I was out yesterday fishing a jig , swimming it in bursts with no success really and switched to a scented jerk shad and picked up some good fish, I wasn’t dead sticking but snapping with long pause. Seems like a pattern moving forward as the water temp is dropping. Will see? Thanks for sharing!

George, glad you’re making it work a different way. I was out today and mostly sight fished deep boulders, knowing that there would be fish on them. I like the deadstick to be immediate. Cast it, let it get down and draw the line taught. I’ll try your snapping technique tomorrow.

@@TheLittleStuff good luck Jeff ! I have also been finding big fish really shallow,small shallow poles near current, some of these fish are in 12” of water.

Would it be easier to buy a boat?
@TheLittleStuff14 күн бұрын
Nothing else goes as shallow as these inflatables. A boat, like a Jon boat or even a Jet couldn’t get to many of the places we went without smashing into rocks and spooking all the fish.
