I suppose what in Scotland would be like a windowless bothy on a dark night with the rain outside; it's a last refuge, and beyond that all hope is lost. And that's where whiskey is: it will either take you into the abyss or release you from it. But with this one, it's like in those moments of great clarity of thought - you put it on your tongue, and there's a moment when you see all the Jesus-light coming through the sky, and the clouds parting, and the rain lifting, and all those things. Distillery is beside the ferry terminal so you’ll see it as you drive out on your journey from Harris up to Lewis.

James always talks about Oz as being posh, but he's hardly in the Royle family himself haha.
@moogle683 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't think James understands that he's living in the 21st century, so a lot of his hobbies and skills are so rare that they make him exceptionally posh. Being genuinely interested in history and being able to learn ancient skills/techniques that have almost no modern application is an exclusive luxury only affordable to people with so much wealth that they have enough free time to learn a skill they may only ever end up using once or twice in their entire life.

@chrish123458 жыл бұрын
sorry what I meant was that single estate wine has everything done 'in house', single malts are not like that, very often the barley comes from the other side of the country and they are matured also elsewhere, but as long as the spirit is DISTILLED at the distillery, they can call it a single malt
