Ladakh is a high altitude Himalayan region in northern part of India. Ladakh is called the cold desert because of its cold weather and dry mountains. There are two main routes to Leh, one is from Srinagar and the other is from Manali. Zanskar region is a remote valley of Ladakh which remained almost hidden until recently. Now there’s a new road to Zanskar from Leh via Lingshed.

I have been looking for the answer to whether it is possible to drive all the way along the Zanskar River up to Chilling, Rumbak and up to road no 1 so you have a connection to Leh. Your amazing video has given me the answer. I am grateful to you for Young Monk. You are a great adventurer.

For now this one is a great route for adventure travelers, in a couple of years Padum to Nimmu road will be completed .

We are heading to Zanskar and Ladakh in two weeks, and we’re wondering if it’s necessary to bring sleeping bags rated for 0 to -5°C, considering we’ll be staying in hotels and homestays (no camping). Would a thicker inner liner be sufficient, or should we go for proper sleeping bags? Thanks so much for your help!
