“Raymond Gates, an Ohio man who was sentenced to nine years in prison for the rape of a 17-year-old, tried to explain his crime away by blaming everything but himself.
Raymond’s police testimony highlights common ways that perpetrators try to shed blame for their crimes. A Periscope video, livestreamed by 18-year-old Marina Lonina, showed the young woman yelling “no, it hurts so much,” “please stop,” and “please no,” according to police documents provided to Teen Vogue. Lonina was sentenced to nine months in prison for obstructing justice.
“It was consensual,” Raymond told Columbus, Ohio Police Detective Brent Close, according to a police interview summary.
“She tells me, 'Yes, everything's cool.' She's cool with making out. She's cool with us getting naked. She's cool with us being there, Then all of a sudden, you know, a couple of seconds before... I mean, I'm sure. That's what happens, girls are like 'Oh. It's just going to hurt' and stuff like that,” Raymond said.
He added: “She just got, like, last second. Like, 'I don't want to do this.' Then we started doing it and everything was cool.”
“This girl came back to my house, she's eighteen, she's a virgin. She's telling me she wants to lose her virginity, man, like that she's ready to do it and everything. And then right a couple seconds before, and she's like 'I don't know,' and stuff like that. I mean, that's how girls get when they lose their virginity,” Raymond said, according to the interview summary.
“I am not a rapist. I am a good guy. I have only been with a few women. I am not a rapist,” he said in a police interrogation video.”

That's what people mean when talking about "rape culture". It's not that society approves of rape, as the concept of rape culture is falsely presented by conservatives, the alt-right, and anti feminists. It's that people don't consider non-consensual sex rape, if they have some sort of excuse for it. "It wasn't rape, she was drunk", "It wasn't rape, virgins are supposed to dislike it", "It wasn't rape, I already came after 30 seconds....." whatever. I was conducting a sex-ed course for college students when suddenly I realized that the conversation among the majority of males in the class was essentially a mass admission to rape. I had to stop the lesson dead and spend the rest of the time we had just educating the guys, and the girls who seemed to be accepting of the victim-blaming culture, on where the boundaries between sex and rape lie. It was an eye-opening experience. This realization prompted me to conduct a campus-wide study which concluded that over half of the sexually active heterosexual males under 30 years of age on our campus had unknowingly committed rape, many of them before even leaving high school. Thankfully, the results led to an outreach program that sought to educate area high schoolers, both guys and girls in traditional and nontraditional relationships, about those boundaries. The most effective tool we had in teaching these boundaries were the example cases we found, the likes of this, as they proved concrete enough in their consequences to convince the students to err on the side of caution when they were not entirely sure of whether mutual consent was still in effect. Everyone needs to share this!

For the purpose of the study, we used only the state and federal definitions of rape. Within those definitions, were other legally defined terms, which we also used in our assessments to the best of our ability. Also, if a person is too impaired to notice whether there is mutual consent or not, mutual consent does not exist.

It's not so black and white as you make it seem. Here's a personal example. So I've been at a party and blacked out while a girl was flirting with me. We had both been taking shots together and I'm pretty sure she was beyond your definition of being able to give consent as well. She then proceeded to feel me. penguins forall the reason people assume (and hope) that he will be the one raped is because it's a very known thing that in prison, they don't stand for rapists, molesters and child abusers. they beat them, shank them and rape them. they hate them and gang up on them. rapists and child abusers usually have to be housed in protected custody. and why get all offended and upset, defending a rapist. he deserves to get done to him what he did to her. it's justice. it may sound cruel but most people, myself included, don't give a shit what happens to rapists and child abusers. there's no reason for them to be here, kill them all.

RAINBOW DASH well because people are ashamed of being one yet the true defenition of a feminist is equal rights for all.
