They lynched 4400 people over a 150 year period without one person ever standing trial for a lynching. Then came voter suppression tactics gerrymandering and electoral college. Then discrimination and segregation to the point the military was segregated. Can't leave out the "war on drugs". How about police brutality and racial profiling. Redlining and gentrification. Yes, he said that. It shocked me some. I think a lot of Americans need a really good history lesson. I was raised in the south and the north acted like we southerners were stupid. I lived in GA and SC. I will tell you - the SC classes taught a good bit of history of America and of the civil war. and I ( as a poor white person ) learned a lot about that society. I will say there is a lot of ignorance on the civil war - and before/after. and I think folks need to understand better what it all means.
