He was played as a striker at Newcastle and even Netherlands and in Klopp's team he has played as a central or defensive midfielder. He has made almost as many key tackles as Thiago statistically. I'm not saying Wijnaldum is better than Thiago or anything, just saying it's unfair to compare two different players. Wijnaldum was brilliant in his own ways and he gives you something different from Thiago with his energy and physicality. Let's not also forget that Wijnaldum has been more fitter than Thiago so we got more games from him. I'm hoping Thiago can find peak fitness and we don't lose him to injuries often.

Thiago is "NEW"😂😂😂😂. He has been operating on this level since his Barcelona times. Due to injuries, he was in and off the pitch and did not get enough limelight from media and press as his quality as a footballer desreves to get. Alcantara was always a world class player. I dont believe people appreciate how much versatility Wijnaldum posseses, hes the player Klopp changed the most, was a CAM at PSV and NewC, came in and played holding, and box2box, even played false 9 against barca. People always look out for flashy technique, Wijnaldum has a share of that, and has mastered the basics like no other. The 2 can actually START together in the middle. Thiago should play no.6 one of the best midfielders football has ever seen, no exaggeration.
