NO. Chameleons (especially the chameleo calyptratus) cannot EAT HOUSE INSECTS. THEY CARRY PESTICIDES. I know I sound rude but when you buy an exotic pet like a chameleon, you dont get second chances. I've kept chams for years and I cannot explain how many have died because of a small mistake. They may look fine to eat but only feed them feeder insects.

Raised L by hand from the time he was tiny and obvi spent a lot of time with him. The shedding skin around eyes needs to be gently peeled away w warm wet Qtip--a part of them is shedding almost all the tine. How are you getting L his calcium without dipping the worms in it? He's a great chameleon!

Some but they mostly drink off of leaves and sticks, that's why you have to mist their terrarium a few times a day plus have a little dripper or something similar.

Sadly, no. Chameleons should only have fruits/veggies as a treat! Their main diet consists of insects and the like, so only fruits and things would be an awful and sugary diet for one of these guys. Perhaps you can catch some insects rather than buying them?? Crickets from outside won't hurt at all :)

Blueberries and cherries are not typically offered to chameleons, and I'm not so sure they're a good choice for them, but chameleons CAN eat kiwi, Apple, orange, mango, banana, strawberry, tangerines, melons, and a variety of greens!

Hello! Your is a Veiled? If is, i only can help you with my experience. I just have 2 lamps, one UVA/UVB (a tube) and a ceramic heater. I never needed a night lamp, or a basking spot. But there is Exo Terra Glow Light Clamp Lamp & Reflector that charges light to the night cycles.

they are actually extremely hard to take care of and will most likely die of stress if you don’t take care of it right. they are super cool but they aren’t a good beginner lizard. i recommend a bearded dragon. i have one and they’re awesome. they interact with you and they are super chill.

For me, personally, I just held it out to my chameleon and offered it as a treat. She took a few hesitant licks, and then ate it like it was the best food on earth, haha. Some chameleons dont like fruits and the like, though. It varies from cham to cham.

I used to work at a pet store that had chameleons, I watched them eat crickets, moths, caterpillars, and live baby mice. These guys are carnivorous and can have an insatiable appetite. However, if you do properly care for them and provide them enough living space they make great pets and will enjoy your company as much as you enjoy theirs.

You can't teach a cham to like fruits- try offering your cham small bits of strawberry or mango, and see if they'll take it! Some chams just don't like fruits.

Not in sliced form- it'd be very difficult for them to chew. You can mash/blend it for them to eat, though. Apple is a popular fruit for chams.

I know certain species of chameleon do eat veggies but i don't know if the panther is one of them because all i saw was they only eat insects and things like other lizards and small birds , I have seen ppl feeding mice but i don't know if they actually eat that in the wild.

Daniel Fletcher Hi Daniel! In Lisbon, Portugal. At first i had a basking light, a red light inside but that bulb always gave me problems and i never had noticed L basking there. So I decide to change that red light to a ceramic heat and things got better. L is always out of his cage, I mean at least 3 days per week he is taking sun shower ;) There was just one time that he got sick and it was because of the UVA/UVB light that wasn't working anymore, so soon I changed soon he got better!
