This is a brilliant explanation. I have been a boxing coach for twenty years and have never heard anyone address the actions behind a jab but for use in a rapier. Rocky Marciano called it controlled falling.

Everything I've been learning for rapier has made me almost want to go back into Muay Thai and boxing, all this data just isn't there and god I wish it was

I have no clue about hema, but man, it's cool that you have a stepping diagram on your hand. It looked so cool and I didn't know what it was and then you used it for demonstration. I'm in awe

Bless 💞 it's a very funny conversation piece and feels as useful to me as Adam Savage with his ruler on his forearm

Thibault was a true Carrancist unlike Pacheco so he was a philosopher who invented his own system based on Carranza's principles. He is very unorthodox compared to other Destreza treatises because he was a follower of Carranza while most of the Destreza community of today are Pachequista(Rada and others). The primary purpose of Destreza is to beat Vulgar fencers and Thibault invented his own system against Vulgars like Fabris.

Why is the video a mirror image?

Because I recorded it with my front facing camera and refused to do any editing, because if I try and make time for editing, I'll never get videos out
