Have you guys thought about getting a crudbuster type device that septic tank pumper use to break up solids? Basically a propeller blade on a long shaft attached to a motor. Possibly a plaster beater on a cordless drill?

I wouldn't use a plaster mixer or a spade, something with multiple prongs like a three pronged hand fork with an extended handle.

Hey Dave would I make a suggestion to you to make your job ALOT EASER when you come across these types of blockage. ASK JEM to Purchase NO FREEBIES 1. BUY a couple of Ryobi or Makita or Dewalt Half inch drills ( NOT MILWALKEE OVER RATED ) which ever you prefer 2. Go buy a 4 inch or ( 101.6 mm ) concrete mixing blade I think this would be perfect size for these manholes 3. ADD water and mix it will be much easier to drain that way you would have to fight with that spade your always using

Have you tried a Paint mixer paddle on a cordless? I would make a Clear Plastic shield for it...drill a hole to push paddle into drill...and not risk splattering your camera man again !! It would POO-LVERIZE It nicely !! Making it a Batter quality mixture for easier flow and be fast and Fun !! 🇨🇦🤓🤙

I was thinking the exact same thing. Why do the fuss with buckets when they have a high power hose that can fill the manhole with water much more effectively. Also, If there is a tap at the location they could just have a hose connect there and they don’t have to lug buckets of water.

Buckets give "Volume" The Higher the Drop the better the Penetration Hose gives constant Flow but minimal Agitation

Call me crazy, but sometimes an industrial (potato) masher can do the job much better then a shovel. Just enhanche the stick with the one of a broom, and you can mash the dry into wet so much faster.

OH NO I've got an idea. Anyone there a fabricator / maker? After you got that moving around 1 20 in to the video. If you had a thing that was like a big potato masher with large holes it would be less work on your part. But what do I know it might not even work.

Wrong Again ! just scoop it out onto the side first, find the access point jet it drain it and then put the crap back in the drain slowly and jet as you go along they way he did it makes it 10x harder
