I sold my hype 4 the same day I got the Tansio X it was that much better to my ears. I was expecting to hear the same from this review rather than they sound similar.

This became my reference set very easily, CKLVX D41 with kbear07 eartips being a somewhat of a close second. I'm good for now. They're like the Studio 4 with a well controlled bass and treble boost, perfect for my music library of 80s pop and thrash metal. Can handle anything to be honest, even my most complicated beats :) Update: the Spinfit cp145 tips give the d41 a more neutral presentation; not as flavored or detailed as the Hype 4, but good enough that I can forgive the shortcomings.

competitor for HYPE 4 is Simgo Supermix 4 despite the huge price difference. As for Doscinco, wondering how that compares to HYPE 4, which should be much more technical focused whereas Doscinco is about the bass and warmth?

I like in your graph the Hype 4 has less energy in 4k-6k range than Hype2. That is an area where I cannot EQ down using macEQ, so my Hype2 is being sold on. Also I found the need to EQ down the entire bass region of my Hype2 by 2db.. 32k, 64k, 125k, then the bass sounded more correct. Using Penon Liqueur Orange tips. Ultimately though, the Hype2 hurt my ears after an hour and no amount of EQ correcting can fix that for me. Even EQ'd, I just couldn't get Hype2 vocals as up front as they are out of the box with the Canon 2.

Yeah, that much is clear just from the graph. It’s fairly forward up top, as well, so it’s somewhat of a “consumer” tuning because it will seem more detailed and dynamic. Even with that, it’s a pretty well designed IEM that doesn’t have a ton of peaks in the important range. Their products are a bit less durable than some others, so that’s the other factor in considering it.

Today I bought it. Big dissapoitment. All has a little bit fog. Middle is in back, bass bloats to the middle. Very medium quality iem's. My hexa, oh10, ie 600 all sound like it must sound. Hype 4 is not sound realistic. Its a little bit muddy. A very good sound but added a veil first.

The Ziigaats aren't better, but the Doscinco is like 90%-95% of the hype 4. Just missing the extension basically.
