The pagan and hammerite setting is so well working that i cannot fathom WHY the reboot threw these factions and story line ideas out of the window. I could not play the thief reboot completely as i was so frustrated in it. It was so forgettable and a out right down grade from 1998-2004 games. Damn, i'm still annoyed by that reboot.

The Tree Beast guarding the Jacknall's Paw scared the living crap out of me when I first played this game. Very satisfying when I finally killed it, quite literally, with fire.

It was amusingly horrendous at times. Granted, we have a wonderful trilogy and don't need a reboot. If you want Thief in newer graphics and entirely open-source, there's always The Dark Mod. An excellent freeware project.

The pagans in the third one were a mello tone version of the first one...I played the third one first then the first and I was blown away about how they were they give you that(for a lack of a better word) wild feeling and I wanted to join Constantine in his cause
