As much as I loved this mod, I really hated this level and it was a real chore to get through.

After a while in this level I stopped treating it like a normal stealth mission and more like an undead mission (like bonehoard or old cathedral levels from the original) if that makes sense. It got better once I thought “screw it” and took risks with getting caught and fleeing instead of being an invisible thief. These kinds of levels have always been a bit contested in the series since you’re not really encouraged to sneak and rob the place blind. It becomes more of a movement and combat challenge. Which I get not everyone likes. It’s not my favorite way to play, but it’s faithful to the original :) I still enjoy “into the maw of chaos” more though, which is a sentence I never thought I’d say XD
