mikfhan I followed him just before he vanished into the crowd... It was the beginning of a very long education. The keepers were training me to be one of them. But I had, other uses for those skills.

is this what makes 90s game music sound so badass? i mean like some of the tracks in Unreal Tournament, Ballistics, System Shock 2, Sonic Mayhem's Quake II soundtrack, Thief intro/credits theme, Dungeon Keeper, Red Alert etc. i have trouble finding something that sounds like it in modern games or music, is that grunge, electronic or dnb?

@@shiveringisles3509 most of the time they make it orchestral. even matt uelmen who did diablo ost used samplers and recorded live sounds to compose it by himself

These games had such a cool, unique atmosphere. Definitely a product of the 90s, you can hear some grunge-y elements with the drum and bass, but it aged like fine wine, because Mr. Brosius knew how to use these elements. No series I know of has as much of a sense of "cool" as Thief. RIP Looking Glass Studios. I kind of wish I was old enough to play these when Looking Glass was in their prime, and the series had a future, but it's nice being able to play with all the brilliant FMs released over the years, Rowena's Curse to Night in Rocksburg. You taffers are all great, even those of you who don't like burricks. Garrett and Kerr Avon are the epitomy of badass anti-heroes to me, and when presented with the opportunity I like to play characters like them. Cold, selfish, pragmatic, with a dry sense of humor and a couple tricks up their sleeves.

The all time best game of the stealth genre. If it were not for this game and Metal Gear, we wouldn't have seen other series like Splinter Cell. A true-must for any gamer. :)

Let's not forget Tenchu, which predates Thief by about a year.

Metal gear is a Hot shots movie, while Thief TDP and Thief 2 are a fine Shakespeare book. Metal gear wants to be Thief when it grows up. Best wishes.

This game is so old but the ai still very good they don’t give up so easily like in other stealth games they keep searching even in places were they didn’t see me

I know right? This game has ahead of its time, all the art, story and music were unique and something that must be achieved in today's generation of videogames.

@@eduardoriffo8290 shame the new game sucked despite having better technology they couldn’t do a good stealth game. Dishonored 1 was the closest thing to a thief game it was ok but the character was overpowered didn’t really need to use stealth you can easily destroy everything in your path. Shadows of the metal age is damn good mod for thief 2 if you didn’t play it yet

In Thief 1 the AI is more persistent, Thief 2 they were much more easy to forget about you.
