Mbappe should be able to adapt to whatever role he’s asked to play. The problem is he hid out in the farmers league too long, didn’t develop after age 19. His tactical awareness isn’t there. He was given every accommodation, the team played for him and didn’t require him to do any work for the team. He’s now just a pace merchant with a decent finish.

I think there is many issue. Like I said before on paper it looks a fantastic team but then it all depends on egos in dressing room. You can’t have many captain in the ship. Also another thing is Real have played alot of games last season and with newer formats and playing more regular I think it is very exhausting physically and mentally. I think Madrid the real issues Madrid have are in transition when they the lose the ball. A player like Rodri or with a similar tactical profile becomes priority next transfer window, but wouldn’t panic if I was them. They’ll come right. They always do.

Exactly - but their style of play often drops a ball playing centre back to into midfield to create a central overload. The consequent risk is when you lose the your back four is exposed. Im not Modric has the legs and Tchouameni has the defensive tactical acumen to fill in the gap on transition - so it requires a profile of player who is adept at reading transitions and filling in.

It's not that simple, the teams that are better are changing the way they play. the balls are more central, the passes are longer and more direct. I see teams putting players aged 17, 21 in the middle because they adapt better to this style. rodri has not yet played in this new format. but it needs to change the midfield and certainly the defense.

Everyone blaming Mbappe are blind to see that Carvajal, Courtois, and Alaba are injured. Kroos and Nacho are gone and the only new player they got is Mbappe. Ancelotti still thinks he can play like last year with Kroos but he should adapt to his new team. I would say play 433 and force Mbappe into that striker role, but also with the chance to play from left wing. Yesterday he ended up many times going for goal from the right, which isn't ideal for his finishing. And Rodrygo and Guler are too good to bench. Maybe it is time for Ancelotti to leave?

At least with PSG when they had Neymar, Mbappé and Messi, They had some sort of creative dexterity where Messi can go on the left or right or can switch vice versa or all three can interchange, but also had a midfield full of ball winners and engines, which Madrid don’t have doesn’t have, Modric doesn’t have the legs. Madrid’s best option is to experiment with a 3-4-3 if they insist on keeping the front 3, I would have Vini, Rodrygo, Mbappe or Vini, Endrick, Mbappe | at least for this season because both Rodrygo and Endrick would naturally have better chemistry through domestic and international game time, then compared to Vini and Mbappé playing close to eachother then have Valverde - Tchouameni - Camavinga - Bellingham All these players are decent on the ball but have high work rate, the high crate is the most important factor as the main job is to break up play and get the ball wide, then if more creativity is needed bring Modric or Arda

Last year, Jude was able to stand out and score way more goals because he was taking up that false 9 role . With mbappe taking up that space now , Jude is forced to stay back and that has hurt his goal score chances a good bit . They only signed mbappe cause he was a great individual player but didn’t stop to see if he actually fit in the team.
