Last year about this time I collected the main 20 Jedi that fought during the Clone Wars in 3.75 scale. 3.75 is the only way to get most of them right now unfortunately. I’d love to see a Black Series Oppo Rancisis or Coleman Kcaj.

Really great insights! I appreciate you balancing your worries and optimism as I've been hearing nothing but doom and gloom since the January Livestream. We are definitely in a lull right now as Hasbro packed the Q4 schedule (to try and finish the calendar year on a high note), but the newly announced two-packs and heavier Prequel/CW emphasis tells me that they are likely scaling down inventory a bit and targeting more of what they think will work right off the bat. That may mean more popular releases (troopers, Jedi, etc.) but perhaps at the expense of riskier new sculpts like Cantina aliens and other OT background characters. We'll see how it all works out, and while I share many of the same worries, I think there's still lots to be excited about!

Bottom line is prices are to high on figures. Most folks do not have disposable income like they once did. They need to get back to normal pricing and also listen to the fans. They also release the same figure with minor differences over and over and over.

It's more that the price doesn't reflect the value accurately. It wasn't a big deal for a figure to only come with one accessory at $20. It is a big deal for a figure to cost $25+ to only come with one accessory. They need to give more value to justify the high prices.

I appreciate how fair and even handed you are in this video. Too many videos talking about the state of a line or company will either go full Mortal Kombat Fatality or downplay issues. The overproduction due to temporarily increased demand cannot be emphasised enough. There are definitely figures that end up on clearance because they're not popular (the Eternals figures deserve their meme status, and I *like* that movie), but I think that is also a big contributing factor that is often overlooked. Here's hoping the Black Series rights the ship. At least we're getting some long-awaited figures soon, and hopefully Hasbro Pulse becomes available for Australians soon.

Couldn’t agree more, Luke. People are flipping out over the livestream, but the team tried to temper expectations. I didn’t even think it was a problem anyway, I’m very hyped about the Droideka and Thrawn! Plus like you said, the beginning of the year is ALWAYS slow; collectors have short memories lol. This year we are getting a Prequel Anniversary Mini-Beat, more EU Legends figures, and even Clones of the Galactic Republic for the cloners lol. That’s a huge amount of fan favorite releases. In addition, I’m also VERY excited for the retooled figures Yak talked about on BSC. Once people hear that this weekend, hopefully there will be more positivity about this line. 2023 was the best year for the Black Series yet, and 2024 looks to be even better yet! I'm an OT guy so aside from any OT releases I've stopped collecting anything Star Wars from Hasbro. The new stuff just doesn't do it for me. I'm not concerned about character selection or declining quality on their products. What does concern me is the financial reports. Hasbro is in pretty deep doo-doo! They are in a situation where they may soon be unable to pay off their dividends to shareholders. Possible results may be pay less dividends, take out a loan or cut more employees. Several of those actions would down grade Hasbro's already declining stock. The $$$ they pay Disney for the distribution rights to Star Wars and Marvel doesn't help. That's concerning for sure.

I will say that I started collecting back in November of 2021 and my first black series was the Mandalorian stormtrooper. I remember how fun it was to pose the figure. This sparked my interesting in collecting and customizing. Now cut to the present and I have spent more than I should on these figures and I want to completely stop. I am almost done with my main collection of black series, with specific figures. I just want to finish some custom projects so I may stop because I don’t want this to drag on more than it already I have been. The only way I would buy black series again if they release the characters that I have, only much better interns of accuracy and how much it has improved compared to the previous ones.

Having been on the Black Series bandwagon since it started, I have now all but abaondoned the line, and most things SW Disney including selling off my Black Series from the Sequels (which still stick in my craw as very weak movies & few worthwhile figures. I now concentrate on my TVC collection. I may pick up some of the new Prequel figures since they are from the Lucas era ... before the Dark Times ... Before Disney !

My biggest problem is there's clearly very little wiggle room for the team to fully design legacy characters to put into the line with the constant dedication to newer content being released. New shows or seasons to existing ones are annual at this point, and Disney is pushing Hasbro to make products for them as a way to promote. It sucks because we as the customer are screaming at this team to make what we want, but can only supply that huge list through pockets at a time. That confinement with time is shown with Pre Vizla, as the reuse was clear they wanted to meet our demands but just didn't have the time to sculpt it the way they should being doing at this point.

I think the biggest problem with the Black Series is that people expect Hot Toys level quality, while also expecting lower prices, while also include unholy amount of obscure characters, and an impressive amount of accessories, all the while not even buy those amazing figures that come out and thwn complain about Hasbro not listening to fans Collectors aren't Hasbro's main source of income. Case and point, as long as Kuiil figures don't sell, then it makes no sense for Hasbro to add niche characters or weird aliens, Luke Skywalker figures will ALWAYS fly off the shelves, Vader figures will fly even quicker, hammerhead or Yakface, the glup shittos that appear in 1 frame of the OT won't.

Whats wrong with marrok? Hes my favorite figure in that ahsoka first wave given the ahsoka herself is a repeat. I really want more inquisitors and marrok has a great mold and articulation, my only complaint is i which they released him and other inquisitors with multiple hilts in each form they take. The ezra was great but several years too late. Im still enjoying clone wars maul and ventress probably my favorite figures since grievous. I really hope they re-release the clone wars anakin and obiwan with better hands ( like rotj vaders ) to flank the new kid ahsoka. And im very happy to finally have more battle droid types. Yeah sometimes it's embarrassing to see the insane amount of toxicity in the Hasbro livestream chat. Being a Black Series collector it's almost a necessity to have the ability to ignore the negativity that comes from that faction of the community. The biggest disappointment is when a new collector posts pictures of the new figure they bought on a forum like Reddit. It's almost guaranteed multiple people will feel compelled to say how much they think the figure sucks or that we should've gotten this other figure instead of the one the person bought.

Honestly with hasbro im focused on tvc. Bs is ok but doesnt scale with other lines as theyre quite small and lack the articulation of ml and other hasbro lines. Bs got both s1 and 2 bad batch andor stuff and ahsoka. Tvc didnt and goe inaccurate kitbashes and rerepaints. Tvc has a host coming and until then. No effort put into putting a ghost crew in the tvc while bs got 2 issues of them.
