What I like about you videos, is that it's nice to watch someone who knows what they're doing.

I don’t think they know you have lap the d p m over the brick at d p c height school boy error
@darrenthebuilder23 күн бұрын
Regs require you to lap the dpm with dpc. If we were using 100mm dpc them yes you would Lap the whole dpm ove the doc, but we’re lapping it lower down. Please show me the regs that requires it to be lapped over the brick with wider Dpm. Some of you just talk for the sake of it because you think you know it all but don’t even know how to interpret guidance. All you know is what someone told you once. The goal is to create a continuous membrane and can be lapped further down the wall.

@@darrenthebuilder ok Darren if that’s the case I stand corrected just thought you had to lap in no matter where

Excellent work, it's great that you're teaching the chaps, I'd love to come & help teach them & get my hands dirty again.. Sadly that's not to be but I could sit there all day, providing you could bring me back to sunny Basildon every day lol😂😂😂. Have a great weekend all of you

Coming back to the topic about teaching. It's hard to get committed and hard working people, especially young people. I've been watching your videos since when Mr. A. was around. You went to Dominica and worked with Namdi, to now having Tristen & Kenneth as a constant workforce. Teaching them the skills will make them feel more motivated and make things better for your business. I love seeing the comradery with you guys as you're working

Exactly those 2 points and its good to know you realise that. 1 ;, people enjoy watching your videos , they really do and you can tell as people complain when you don't upload . 2 ; trades are always saying you are doing this this and this wrong . Unfortunately on social media you always get the negativity . But looking at comments the positivity massively out weighs negativity . Great watching the build progress 👍

NHBC dont allow concrete blocks tied into Thermalite because of cold bridging, it has to be a wall tie detaill. Easy to sort out now before its to late 👍

Just a quick recommendation…. Try a block saw , they are quite cheap and much better than using a wood saw to cut the light blocks…

Very much enjoyed this - I know how much effort it is to edit videos like this! You are doing a super job of explaining the work - and it is so nice to see you teaching your guys... Next time you do a Q and A type thing? I would be interested in the patois you guys slip into occasionally? Like, is it what you normally speak off-camera? Do you prefer it? Are there 'accents' in the language? Like there are in English? (Of course - nothing to do with building a house! HA! But it's unique to your channel!)

I tried linking the installation details for ecotherm but it won't let me. All corners external and internal definitely need dpc covering them. Also if you've got nhbc coming as you said in video they'll likely have issues with the concrete blocks being bonded into thermalite. Ignore the trolls

The ties are to connect the inside and the outside blocks together he create a stronger “wider” wall. The concrete blocks are heavier but the light ones (that we saw) have better thermal properties so they will help keep the house warmer than the concrete ones. I hope that helps

@@darrenthebuilder I am a bricklayer by trade I only do brick work I don’t try and do every single trade like you do I mastered the art of brick laying I don’t have shoddy one spot board setups like you do I present myself on site in a professional manner I have 10 bricklayers working for me and I have 3 apprentices at present they are all been taught properly by my bricklayers who have years and years of expirience .. my bricklayers will not teach the apprentices how to render the brickwork in the process of laying bricks .. also my bricklayers don’t take 2 minutes to lay one block like yourself 👍
@darrenthebuilder23 күн бұрын
@lukeyoneshot6040 so you don’t teach anyone basically. You just rant on KZbin because it makes you feel superior in one facet of your life. To be honest I get it, it gives you a level of self esteem which we all need. It’s either that or stay playing video games. Trust me I do get it. I guess I can see it as helping one more man out there to feel better about himself. I should probably get an award for the work that I’m doing here.
