While I am very upset that a sector of the population - pensioners - has been targeted to take something from them (discrimination), I have read that funding earmarked for projects in Scotland to attempt to deal with climate change problems has been withdrawn so as to use it to finance public services. This sort of short-sightedness from Scotland's government is very bad - is it because of Labour in Scotland or is it the SNP losing what little of the plot they had understood?

Wales and Scotland suffered an 11% decrease in real terms funding under the Tories. There is simply less money to go around. The capital budget this year is down 9% due a lack of capital investment in England, resulting in reduced Barnett Consequentials.

How does SNP lieing through its teeth about the undeniable fact of life that Scotland simply can't survive economically without generous Barnett formula funding from Westminster,according to Scottish government latest GERS for showing 10.4 % fiscal deficit compared to 4.5 % for entire UK. Remember,Scottish government has the powers to top up any benefit,such as winter fuel payments and child benefits. Why not discuss appalling drug deaths in Scotland,worst in Europe,worst by far in UK,doubled since SNP coming to power. Failure,failure,failure the legacy of 17 years of SNP misrule. By the way,selling electricity to other regions of UK is known a normal business. All over the world energy is bought and sold.

Under the last Tory Government they raised the National Debt by almost £2000 billion pounds. That equates to an average of £142 billion per year. Which is an average deficit of £382 million per day over 14 years. Labour have improved matters in July with a deficit of only £100 million per day. @@Magpie6639 GERS was created by Whitehall for the UK Government in 1992. It is primarily a propaganda tool to frighten the people of Scotland. It has been published since before the Scottish Government reconvened, through a Labour administration, a Labour/ Libdem coalition and onwards to SNP. Absolutely nothing has changed. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland run a fixed budget, and cannot by law, run a deficit. Only England can run a deficit, which was £3.1 billion in July. Precisely £100 million per day.

What is your business record then?If I recall you started only one business,investing £50,000 and had to wind the business up with assets of £500,a 99% loss!!! As most economists say that GERS is more about estimates and is not based on any FACTS, so how can this be categorised as reality, when infact it is far from reality. With Scots proven to be bringing more to the english treasury from oil and gas VAT, going straight to the english treasury with no facts included into Scotlands assets So is it not time GERS was booted and FULL FACTS printed instead of the jackanory nonsense the Scots see in the union. With westmonster very comfortable with lying, shows that GERs is another big LIE.

The snp have a better record than any labour or tory party in westmonster. What have labour or tories given to society as a whole that helps all from the poorest to the richest. Snp has many given to all Scots, from baby boxes to prescriptions. Cheaper council taxes to public railways and discounts on fares. So what have tories and labour given that is better than snp.
