As a guy, I've had girls tell me I have pretty eyes or a pretty nose, and it didn't bother me. Maybe it's different if it's about a specific feature though, because I could see how a girl calling a guy pretty could sound like she's insinuating he's pretty like a girl. I mean, the term "pretty boy" can be used as a pejorative, like he's kind of vapid, just a good looking face without substance etc. On the flipside, you don't see women being called handsome these days as it's seen as too "masculine" of a word, but a century or so ago women were called handsome too.

yeah, I noticed in Pride and Prejudice that the girls were referred to as handsome and I thought it was a nice expression

@@mochisprite9779 I believe in intentions. If you genuinely compliment someone and make it known you didn't mean tu hurt or offend them, that matters. I remember being 17 and not knowing how to respond when a girl called me cute. I figured guys weren't cute. At least I wasn't. Perception can mean everything to you, but it doesn't tell you the other person's intentions.

@@Onnarashi My step dad was the same way, except he took it way too seriously. Like it was an insult. Would argue about it and everything; “guys aren’t cute”, up until he heard my dad say the word “cute”. Dk why it mattered that much to him.

5:41 it's a vicious cycles, girls don't compliment guys because they think the guys may see it as flirtatious, so guys barely get complimented, BUT due to this when guys do get complimented, we assume it's a girl being flirty and then girls start to regret doing it and do it less. Rinse and Repeat.

Some of these are the most relatable things I've heard so far this year Not washing bras and jeans as often as other clothes 🤣 Wearing hear differently... If I've not washed my hair in a while, I'll wear it in a high ponytail instead of the usual low ponytail because it makes my hair look somewhat less greasy 🤣🤣 I only own one pair of jeans, but I will wear them until I'm too big for them 😭

In the country I am originally from is not bad to call men pretty or cute, they take it as a compliment same as when you call them handsome or beautiful. So I was really taken aback when I found out first hand just how upsetting it is for men here in America to be called cute/pretty 😂

I am so glad that I do not need to struggle with the boob issues (being almost flat chested). Exercising isn't uncomfortable for me and I don't really feel the cursed bounce... My bras are not uncomfortable (I do not need to wear wired ones) and I can cross-dress easily. Life is good

when it come to compliments, just do it. you don't realise that when it comes to us guys, most of the time you have made our day. Sometimes even our whole week. And yes plenty of us can understand you're just being nice and other times you might have to just be honest about not being interested that way but wanting to just give us a reason to smile. While driving fast can be fun. i'm honestly a little scared, so if you're on a ride with me, I'll make it as smooth as possible, EVEN when rushing to someplace we might be late for. I hate it when guys defend their lady friends using fists. I am like dude chill! Let's handle it maturely, like adults. No need to jump on violence. I also don't like when something happens to a girl and then it's ONLY the guy friend speaking FOR her.
