okay so I didn't know whether I should post this at first because obviously the digital ticket comes with the bonus features and I don't want Starkid loosing out on any money. I was in a Wild West melodrama once and completely flubbed my line during a scene where we were discussing the main heroine getting asked out on a date/getting romantic advances. I was supposed to stand up and say “I’d smooch him just for askin’!” But I got tongue tied and shouted to everyone and my parents “I’d SHOOT him just for askin’!” Nothing the *audience* might find amiss, but deeply embarrassing nonetheless. Worst thing; that was the *one* show we taped. We all watched the show back together later as cast and crew and when we got to that part everybody. Lost it. My mistake was the funniest thing in that whole damn play to them. I was also 12, so that didn’t help in the embarrassment department.

Also another thing: When Robert had to throw Alexa, there wasn't an Alexa on stage so he had to mime throwing that as well (at least I think bc I didn't see an Alexa fly through the air after he "threw" it) but despite that I still liked the execution of the joke in the digital ticket, because (I couldn't figure out a better way to word this so disclaimer that I love Robert and I would die for that man) not seeing Robert's face as he says the line makes it funnier. Edit: another thing I just remembered. In the scene where Paul was speaking with General MacNamara, Jeff forgot to put on a watch.

i had to play the fairygodmother in cinderella and make a boquet of flowers appear once. so I DID THE THING, but the flowers fell out of the vase and I was just like UUUUUUUH in my head before I just decided f it and went full dissapointment mode, saying "I thought I'd brighten up the room, but they're a little wilted..." better than the performance i took a performing shoe's 1 inch heel to the back of my own heel though, I was bleeding on stage for the entire next song and then flagged down our director backstage and was whispershouting as if my life depended on in like "PSSSST, we haVE A SITUATION Over here!"

Oof, I can relate to that. One girl on stage twisted her ankle mid dance number and we had to find a way to bring her off stage quickly. Another time when we performed a musical I was approached three days before the premiere if I could do two lines in different parts. I'm a ball of social anxiety but agreed. One of the lines was always fine, but the second, oh boy the second... I couldn't for the death of me remember the words at first, so I always paraphrased the meaning during the last few rehearsals. On premiere night I got the thing right and after we went off stage the actors asked my why I had said something else this time. We had a good laugh about it.

I can completely relate to poor Robert with the ‘forgetting a prop thing’. I was the main character of an original play (heavy topic and message yay👌), and in one scene my character was supposed to get a call from her bf so obviously I was supposed to use my phone right? Right?! The thing was, since I was a main I had a lot of costume changes and the scenes were basically one right after the other. Not to mention I was changing literally back stage where it was terribly dark. So in a hurry to get changed, I used my phone flashlight for light. But it turns out they turned the lights on for the phone call scene early so I had to RUSH to get changed. And in my panic I left my phone back stage. The very phone I needed for the scene. So imagine my horror when I was supposed to pull said phone from my pocket, only to find my pocket empty. In a moment of quick improv, I placed my hand over my ear to pretend I had the phone, and used my hair to cover my hand, and kept that side of my body away from the audience as much as possible without breaking basic staging rules lol. It was so embarrassing😂😂

Honestly things going wrong during my stage performances are some of the best things that can happen to me. Once I was playing Hercules in a pantomime and my sword fell out my belt and fell behind the stage mid monologue. I just stared at where it disappeared for a couple seconds, looked at the audience and said in my over-exaggerated deep Hercules voice "THAT WAS TOTALLY MEANT TO HAPPEN!!". I'd never gotten a laugh so big, it was great. Acknowledging something going wrong is the best way to save it in comedy.

Okay I played one of the trees during wizard of oz and we didn’t get to practice throwing apples before our show and when the girl behind me went to throw here’s it went over Dorothy’s head and flew into the Audience. After the show we had dress rehearsal and when we went to rehearse half the apples where gone no one knew what happened to them (My favorite part) When the line was supposed to get his metal thing he dropped it and and to pretend it was meant to happen by like saying a little gosh or something

They record whole performances over two+ nights, and compile them into the finished product. So a whole first half can go well, and if a mistake happens they take the recording of that particular scene from another night and splice it in. That's why there's some jump cuts. The end sequence I noticed has two, Paul let it out scene has one, and Emma spitting up blood, the blood on her shirt changes position between shots.

This reminds me of when my high school was doing Cinderella and I was the stepmother. We were about to start the scene but one of the stepsisters was having a wardrobe malfunction (right before this scene we had a quick change). It was the part where the stepsisters tear off the dress Cinderella made but while standing in the wings waiting for the other stepsister I realized it had been too long, so I signaled to "Cinderella" who was in the opposite wing to start the scene anyways. The three of us just had to improve and edit the original lines. I felt bad for not waiting for the other sister, but it was a good choice because she wasn't ready till we had about finished the scene. Plus we did pretty good and were so hyped after it! Still pretty proud of it to this day!
