Things Got Unexpected When an All-Female Flight Crew Jumps Out of a Plane!

Two C-17 Globemaster III with all-female flights conducted airborne operations to commemorate Women’s History Month.
The first all-female C-17 Globemaster III flight crew carrying 20 women assigned to various units across Joint Base Charleston air refueled from a KC-135 Stratotanker from the 171st Air Refueling Wing (ARW), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The second flight saw a two-ship C-17 formation flown by two all-female crews air refueling with a KC-135 from the 171st ARW while flying to Pope Army Airfield, N.C., to conduct an airdrop with 80 female 82nd Airborne Division paratroopers.
Not only entertaining, but it's also educational! Will things get unexpected when an all-female flight crew jumps out of a plane?

I did my first static line jump as a civilian in 1985 and then my first military static line jump in 1991. It was the T-10 back in those days and it was hard landings every single time. I don't know how often airborne units are actually parachuting into conflict-/warzones nowadays but having the capability is always good, and it is nice to see that women are fairly well represented at this specialized type of operations.

7:15 It should say, "We did it before, we'll do it again." My grandmother built B-25s during WWII. My grandfather was a Marine in New Caledonia Though he was not in any combat, he did see one battle take place. My grandfather was assigned a special mission to deliver documents back to the States and he was given 24 hours leave to visit his wife. 9 months later my dad showed up.

I served in the Air Force (Security Police Law Enforcement) from 78-86 and made SSgt in under 4 years, when the average time in service for SSgt was 7 1/2 after a WAPS test. When I got out, I didn't know how the Air Force could possibly go on without me. But boy did they. Left me way behind in the Stone Age dust. Watching this video left me slack jawed...kinda like watching purple kangaroos doing the Conga in my front yard. Watching the C-17 Crew Chief yank open the jump door, standing in the slipstream at an altitude of Way to High, the Jump Masters conducting an aerial Concerto, and the Paratroopers casually doing something we would resist with our lives, left me with a sense of awe...not just because they were women, but because they were so DAMN good. I'm so glad the Air Force sped past me at mach 3. We are a better Nation, a stronger Nation, and have the best Military in the world, bar none, because of you. I salute you ladies.

Good job, ladies! When I was in Airborne School, women were just being allowed to attend the school. They did all their PT separately, but we all drilled together and jumped together. I think most of the women in our company were admin troops. At that time, 1984, women were still prohibited from combat assignments.

I was on the fuselage build team on the C-17 in LONG BEACH,CA I must have seen about 70 of these BIG GIRLS go thru my build area. I'm also a USAF VET. AGE MECH. I LOVED WORKING FOR BOTH JOBS.

As a former 101st Aiborne Div member ('67-'68) I salute those female troopers but wonder why they are using the old fashion jump out the door method. At Fort Campbell the paratroopers jumped off the tail gate. Friends said it was fun to run the length of the cargo area and jump that way. We also jumped from large helicopters. It was interesting to watch as the soldiers went down, the chute deployed and as the helicopter moved away the jumpers would rise up, actually go up, from the force of the prop wash. That was late summer into fall of 67 before we deployed to "Nam.🥴🥴🥴

I'm not a Marine jumper because I ask them to cancel my volunteer for Jump School orders in 72 😂 But I have supported anyone who "jumps out of perfectly safe aircraft" since I shined many 101st Airborne brown jump boots as a kid near Ft Dix back in the late 50's.

The flight crew flies that C17 because they are just as qualified as their male counterparts. Those Women paratroopers certainly have bigger balls than I do. I certainly couldn’t jump out of a perfectly good airplane.
