So here's the thing bro (and anyone else reading this)....What matters the most is your relationship with Christ! Why do you think people who are rich are never satisfied? They always want more more more, and people who are multi millionaires and billionaires still wanna commit self deletion? It's because the material things they've been trying to fill that void with only bring temporary satisfaction. We all have thia void and it can only be filled by one, AND HIS NAME IS JESUS CHRIST! You're right there's a balancing act in this world but it consists of balancing Jesus with everyday life! PLEASE listen to what I'm saying everyone. Christ was the best decision I've ever made, and I still struggle and I'm still tempted with stuff but God got my back and I'm loyal to him at the end of the day! What God has set his hands on NO MAN CAN CHANGE! God Bless you all, and Derek please read this as well. Not sure what that little seeing eye bracelet you have is, but it's not of God. Highly recommend cutting that thing off, throwing it in the trash, and putting ALL of your Faith in Christ instead playa 🤜🤛

Amen. Brother I know exactly what you’re talking about. I still fall into materialism every now and then but ultimately I know it’s all vanity. Following Jesus was my best decision. Letting Him transform my heart was the best decision. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. ❤ God bless you bro

I’ve quit watching so many others, because it’s just not REAL. Keep doing what you’re doing, and make sure you make time for your wife and family! That’s what’s the most important in life. I think slowing down and concentrating on what makes you happy is what’s best for you and this channel. Continue to keep it real. The ZR1 content is awesome. True car guys and girls will keep coming back…no worries!! Hell I’m 54 yrs old and love your channel. Been a car guy since I was 13 yrs old. I love watching you youngsters keep it going.

Derek, I can tell your content is genuine and I appreciate your ability to be transparent on a platform where that can be risky business. I was in a similar situation to you, had 6 cool cars on top of a full time job and i couldn't have said it any better myself. Having all these cool cars is not what most people think it is. Its stressful, overwhelming, and eye opening at how much value, the term "simple" brings to the equation. I wanted nothing more than to sell half of them, 100% of the time.

Derek: Being a collector of anything is a journey of refinement. You go crazy accumulating things and then you become more exclusive in your taste. It's not about the number but the quality. I went through that with so many things and eventually your whittle it down to what really makes you happy. Quality is much better than quantity. You have to be happy with 3 cars instead of 7. It's about you being happy. I really do believe you took on a little more than you needed. With that it made you feel obligated to do stuff on each car. That's draining.

Derek, love the channel and your content. This happens when you are driven and accomplish what seems to be a life accomplishment and then you left to consider, what next? I have been there and you will regain the fire. Coupled with people on the channel losing it because you divert from the image or content they want. That has to be disappointing to you. Very true man the passion for cars does come and go, it’s always there but sometimes feels really stale and I think it’s something every car guy faces. I’m only on my 3rd mustang but I’m constantly thinking about the next mod or selling my car and working my way towards something better and better than questioning if any of it is even worth it. I think you just have to find passions and hobbies in doing other things to keep everything balanced out
@tonyb86692 ай бұрын
Sorry to hear you’re struggling - we all struggle with our mental health occasionally and as guys we bottle it up. Take time to evaluate your life and cherish the people that enrich your life. They are more important than cars and work. You need to be happy to move forward. Buying things is a short term happiness hit but friends and loved ones are long term happiness goals. Have a vacation, spend time just being with friends. I’ve gone from being very materialistic to living in a smaller property with less ‘stuff’ and enjoying being with people I love and seeing some new places and enjoying new experiences - much love and stay strong! Talking about mental health and happiness is step one on the road 👍

I get it. At the start of this summer I had 8 cars, 3 motorcycles, 2 snowmobiles, and a SxS. As I am somewhat OCD in keeping them clean maintaining it all is a time job, plus I run a weekly car meet in my town, and I have a surgically fused lower lumbar spine that causes chronic pain and really limits what I can do in a day. I sold 2 cars and a motorcycle over the summer, that helped a bit but I think I need to sell one more car. At least the weekly car meet is finished for the season as winter approaches. I'm almost twice your age and I still haven't learned how to slow myself down so don't beat yourself up over it. First world problems, I know.
