I am a medical laboratory science student and I was able to get full time employment as an MLT intern in a major lab for really good pay. You don't exactly have to work on campus. Just look for a job off campus. Its much easier.

I have no sympathy. As someone who has been to community colleges, a residential four year and now UML, there is no sympathy. College like that and you need to learn to budget. Food is never good at any college unless you have a world class culinary team. Transportation in its general nature will suck. None of this is UML specific and you aren't the only one crying wolf.
