The worst thing ever happened to me and my Royal Enfield Classic 500. It is the end of one chapter and the start of a new chapter!
The Classic 500 will resurrect! So make sure to subscribe to my channel to follow my project and to stay up-to-date.
What name should I give my RE?

My 2018 Battle green blacked out milspec Classic 500 is called "Oddball"...(Kelly's Heros). It's different, a little weird and not exactly what it appears to be....Just like Donald Sutherland! Such fun machines these bullets are, but they're just not meant to haul ass like a sport bike. My BMW 1200RT gets me that "fix". Oddball mellows me out and reminds me of pure motorcycling at the most basic level. Great channel you have and ride safely! Cheers from SW USA.

Love from India.❤ The classic 350 is the best seller in the lineup. Rode 30k kilometers on Indian roads(off-roads). This machine can take everything except top ends. I too ride my 350 hard. No engine issues. The 500s dont sell as much here coz of low mileage. Most 500 classics r converted to carburettor. Its efi fails too often. Mine is carb 2016. The 350s rock here in India. There are riders i know with 100k kilometres on the 350 and 500 Enfields without any engine issues. Guess what i broke off my rear suspension from the swingarm joint( too hard riding style). One advice always keep the oil and the bolts in check. Simple but an elegant motorcycle.

I love my 2018 Green Battle Classic 500 (euro 4) riding mostly in Portugal. After owning it i realised that I dont feel the need to buy any other bike. It´s my 16 th bike over 50 years riding all kinds of bikes.That means something. But i ride it gently even in light off road.

I also ride my Classic 500 off-road. Today the exhaust guard almost fell off! It's fun and quite capable though.

I’m looking into buying a used 2012 500… would you recommend that for a first time rider… the main thing I’m looking at is reliability… if something breaks down, is it easy to fix and relatively cheap… I’m based in Dubai and any info would be awesome (it currently has 7000km and the current owner has modified the exhaust.. that’s about it) Thanks in advance!

Go for the new 350 or 650 twin. 500 vibrate

The 500 requires a riders attention. The newer 350 and 650 models are incredibly good! The newer models are also very reliable and good with fuel. Having said that, I love my 500 and would never sell it. But then again, I am a nut!

Did you get the engine fixed? And if so, what was wrong with it? Would you consider changing the crank to a 612?
@bensal07
@bensal07 Жыл бұрын
I fully rebuilt the engine, with a lighter, balanced flywheel, 2nd oversize forged piston. It runs strong. The price of the 612 kit does is ridiculous, even for me. My 500 is now a 535+, and I am happy with it.
@AlbertDongler
@AlbertDongler Жыл бұрын
@@bensal07 Yep! That 612 kit is a bit too much £££. Glad you're happy with the 535 - I may well do the same 🙂

I really like the handlebars. I have a bullet 500 efi but mine are different. Where can I find them? By the way I suggest to call your bike Godzilla.

I thought I wanted a Himalayan but heard it is more troublesome mechanically. I can get a good deal for a 500, and thought of finding a sidecar for it since I have to carry stuff. I can't say I ride hard, but is this a good bike for long distance touring?
@bensal07
@bensal07 Жыл бұрын
I love my 500, I loved the 650, and I loved riding the Himalayan! Each model has its quirks. I sold my 650 for a Moto Guzzi V1000 G5 because I missed the raw edges. I still have my 500 for that reason. In the end, I would pick the old 500 over any other model of the current RE line-up.
@wckoek
@wckoek Жыл бұрын
@@bensal07 yeah, but the 500 is discontinued now, and hard to find one with ABS. 350 ones are still plentiful. I guess I can just stick with what I can find, Motoguzzi are great bikes but expensive where I am.
