I have a 2018 540i and If your software hasn’t been updated it won’t work with BimmerCode. Updating the head unit software is a complicated process if you’re lucky to find a trusted one online to download and install yourself

The only thing I really hate is the auto-dimming of the dash. The sensor for it is in the upper left of the dash, and if you tint your windows at all it will stay fully dimmed pretty much all the time. Absolutely zero reason for BMW to not put an override in iDrive. Get's annoying having everything dimmed in the middle of the day. Other than that, the G30 540i is one of the best BMWs you can get (outside of M cars).
