I didn’t even think to adapt the settings on golf + to my swing IRL even if it’s really adjusting the club angle. It’s frustrating because my swing IRL on the game goes well right

Great video, Topher. I like that you approach Golf+ almost as a golf sim. Do you know "The Golf Club" VR? I would really like to play a round with you there. It's a true golf sim and not as arcade-like as Golf+. You got my sub :)

I do know the game and played it quite a bit on the vive. I also have a how to post on steam for it 5 years ago. But gave up on it cause the devs gave up. Loved creating a course on Xbox and was able to play it.

@@Anthony_Irons Yea, its abandoned by the devs but still works. I played it with the quest2 and made a video about it. You will see it's playable but with some limitations.

The issue arises from Golf+ utilizing VR headsets that cannot accurately track swing speeds, leading to glitches (the Quest 2 and 3). So, players must adjust their swings, reducing rotation and speed to achieve decent results. While this may not be problematic if you're aiming for fun and low scores in Golf+, it does little to enhance your real-life golf skills; rather, it may even harm your real-life swing. This is why I prefer TGCVR; it allows me to swing at realistic speeds and make full rotations with decent accuracy. By doing so, I can actively work on improving my real-life golf game through VR. I hope this explanation makes sense. Topher may confirm my perspective to some extent. If not, Topher, please share your thoughts on my take. Much love to everyone, peace.

This video highlights how this can be a just video game. I’ve played a couple of multiplayer rounds and that’s who you are playing against. Very few players use a weighted attachment and swing like IRL like I do. None of my clubs are set above 70% power or with any bias. So I’m taking full swings, rotating and finishing like IRL against players sitting on the sofa just wristing their controllers using using all the settings because they are playing a video game. Nothing wrong with either, just different experiences.

Great video! Just wondering though. Why is power assistance used? Wouldn't you want your experience to be 1 to 1 vs your real life swing? Or in other words, see results from your true swing, swing speed, swing plane etc without any assistance in power. I do understand making the adjustment to the club face for draw and/or slice, however.

This seems to be in the game for the accessibility so that everyone can play but I agree its stupid how you can do a one finger swing and drive 300, the best players in the game won't be doing anywhere near an irl swing

@@golfboy7438 Totally agree thats why there needs to be two competion, one with swing assist and one without, otherwise people that do proper swing will never be able to win. Sems strange how a golf game doesn't encourage proper golf swings and forces you to use the assist and flick your wrist to win competions.

I assume that in this video you are playing on video game mode since at 2:30 it shows the driver at 305 yards. I would be more interested in Golf + if I could set my carry distance at my real life carry distances.

Hey Topher, love the video. I've been playing for a few months and the only thing I can't find info on is the red shading on greens. From practicing on greens, it's a slower patch of grass but my instinct says it's a patch with severe slope. Could you please share what it means?

Think of it like a heat map. Green is least amount of slope, yellow/orange moderate slope, red is severe slope. Also between each line on the green is 1 inch of slope. So the red areas that have lines close together can be a half to a full foot of slope.

I don't understand the "where's my waist pointing." Is it while you're addressing the ball? I'm confused...

If I address the ball, stand up straight, and put my club attachment on my waist, it will show me where my feet are pointing and likely where I'm aiming

What golf+ need to do is add two different games modes, becuase there are people that play it like real golf (full swings) and people that play it like a video game (swing assists). Both optional are perfectly fine, but a player playing it like real golf is at a massive disadvantage when playing against someone that plays it like a video game. I know there is already novice, amatuer and pro but you can have swing assist in all those modes.

That's literally like walking into a kitchen and yelling at someone for using a pasta maker instead of a rolling pin because it's not "tradition". If there is an easier and more enjoyable way to do things than do it. All else fails go play real golf and not a video game.

@@topherjaims I don't know why you are annoyed at that comment, like I said theres nothing wrong with playing it the way you do, what I am saying is that if you want to play it like real golf you are always gonna lose to someone playing it as a video game. I don't see why you would have an issue with a mode that had the swing assist turned off. Surely it better for you as you would then only be playing against swing assisted players which means its more competative.
