Hi Tina I am the same age as you and I find it most of what you said I can agree with. When I was young we never had a telephone or a car and we just accepted it. It wasn’t that long after the war that I was born and a lot of people didn’t have much but we were happy. I think today the young people feel that they must keep up with everyone else, especially with possessions. The days of the innocent childhood has gone which is a shame.❤

Hi Tina, some excellent comments from you. When I was a teenager, most of my friends were engaged or married before they were 20. No age at all. I was married at 19 in 1974. It seemed to be the thing to do. I wish that I had experienced more of life before settling down. I should have been far more ambitious for myself. I think I lacked confidence. ❤️xx

Morning Tina. I'm 74 so I can resonate with you on a lot of things. I remember the insurance man coming, marking your book and taking your money. As I've grown older, I've learned to say no. Why should I do something I don't want to do just to please other people. If it's said in the right way, there shouldn't be a problem. I wish I'd listened to my parents and took notice. Times I've said to myself, they were right. Interesting subject, thank you for sharing xx

Hi Tina, I agree with all of your wish I'd known questions... apart from the diet one. We all put on weight as we get older, because we become more sedentary as we age, and our genes... which we inherit from our parents... will determine what we will look like as we age. It's true what they say that we become our parents... if you want to know what you'll look like older... look at your mum is a general rule of thumb! Thanks for sharing your thoughts 😊

I got married when I was 18. In my 20’s I’d have told myself do not jump into a second marriage, stay single for a few years and enjoy that. Also do not leave Yorkshire and go to London. Learn to drive and be more confident and decisive. I’m 72 and a widow. One good thing is I’m just 19 years older than my eldest son and 23 years older than my second so maybe that’s why we’re very close, although sadly not in distance.

Hi Tina. I really enjoyed your video it’s so interesting to listen to. I wish I had learned to say no to things I didn’t want to do and say yes to more of the things I wanted to do I’m still the same even though I’m in my fifties now and I remember going on an assertive course to learn to say no and being told just say no stop looking for excuses people should just accept no but why do we always feel we have to give reasons for saying no and I still can’t just say no 😂. I wish I had spent more time playing with my daughters when they were little but I was busy working and doing housework etc and we did play but I wish I hadn’t been so focused on getting housework done. I do wonder too now if we need all these fabric softeners, so much skincare etc I remember my mum using oil of Ulay and washed her face with soap and water and she used her lipstick as a bit of blusher 😂 and she had lovely skin. Really enjoyed your video and it has made me think and I need to change some things. Thank you for this Tina. You always make me smile. Have a lovely Sunday and a lovely week ❤💕💕

Hi Tina , very interesting topics. I will be 69 in November so nearly all the things you mentioned I can relate to. Learning to drive is something I really wish I had done. My late husband who I met when I was 15 loved to drive and when we got a little car of our own in our Twenties it was just the norm that he was the driver. As I have always been unconfident I was always happy that he drove us everywhere. As you may remember I have been widowed for 13 years now and have really bad mobility issues. So how I now wish I could drive. Well thanks for sharing your thoughts with us and l look forward to your next videos x👍

Oh what a shame as it does give you independence. I know what you mean though because until my husband was ill he always drove which made me less confident. I used to be frightened of driving on the motorway.

Hahaha, the butting in resonates so well with me. I was raised with my mother telling me it was rude to interrupt people who were talking, and thus I became a very good listener. Fast forward to life now, and I have two very good friends, both with a heart of gold but always jump in when I start talking, asking questions on what I'm trying to tell them! I've got to the point now where I do actually say "I'm trying to tell you, if you'll listen"! They're beautiful people and I'm so glad I can get away with saying that to them! As for creams and softeners, I'm 67 and have used night cream for many years, it's done me well and I have to say I love my clothes feeling soft and smelling nice. Very good points, though! xx

Hi Tina, another thoughtful video. When you mentioned your Gran and Nivea, I thought about my Mum and the only skincare in the house was Ponds Cold Cream! I would tell myself that when you get older being able to diet and lose weight isn’t as easy later as when you are young. I could decide to shed a few pounds and almost immediately fit back into clothes. It doesn’t happen now! I learned to drive at 17 ( I took my driving test in my gymslip and passed first time - can anyone remember school gymslips like tunics with the school colours sash?) and had access to a car so I was lucky. At 20 you didn’t realise that often the friends you knew or met then may be in your life to the end, so choose them carefully and treasure the good ones! Thanks for bringing back memories.

@@tinastalktime oh yes. I forgot the liberty bodices and the rubber buttons. I told my granddaughters about them and they could not believe that I was telling the truth! I wish I had kept one for the Mementoes Box. They don’t wear vests in winter and go out in flimsy glad rags wear - I wonder how they keep warm!

Morning Tina, I don’t have many regrets but one I do have is not sticking with learning to drive. We had a car when we got married but before that I lived in London so I didn’t need a car went everywhere by bus. Then I was to busy when I got married and then having children, when I eventually went back to work I got a little Hillman Imp and started learning to drive. My next door neighbour was a driving instructor so he taught me. Well I could drive perfectly alright until it came to the test I was a bundle of nerves and failed three times that was it I wouldn’t drive again which I now bitterly regret. As you say young people nowadays want everything at once we used to have to save up for things. I am 89 now and live with my son after coming back from Spaib which my husband and I lived for 10 years but he got terminal cancer and died after being back in the UK for only 6 months.❤️❤️
