Nice tip. I don't think I would have thought of that.

The zerk fitting is installed into the axle end (spindle part of the axle) and is stationary, it does not spin. The hub spins on bearings that are inserted over the spindle. So how could spinning the wheel assembly loosen a zerk fitting? Only way spinning would loosen the zerk is if the complete spindle assembly turned. Please explain!

yes Doug, I agree. For some reason I haven't figured out yet, I've had two of them back off by turning in the wrong direction. Doesn't make sense.

Yep good info!! and don't put a lot of grease in the wheel to much will go threw the Seals and get on the brake shoes costing a lot to Replace and the Brakes will not hold anymore!! Had a service guy do that at Camping World cost me new brakes all way around>> A little dab will do.

Marion Blair, Thanks for the heads up on the fittings. I hope you were able to get it out with an ez out with out too much trouble. I've never jacked up my tires to add grease but, It does seem like a good idea to check the play on the bearings. I try to keep my tires out of the sun as much as possible to prevent dry cracks. A piece of painted plywood has worked pretty good over the years to keep the sun off when sitting outside. Don't be too jealous of that deleted Ford we both know our Cummins will be running for a long time yet.

Ha, that's good. Yea, I was able to get the zerk out. It should do that but it did. That damn deleted ford is harassing me ha. Thanks for the kind words.

Marion Blair I noticed you have a display in your dash that shows the regen for your Cummins diesel, can you tell me more about it and if you would buy it again?

The tire date code is after the DOT ____ indicating the week and the year the tire was manufactured.

How does towing your travel trailer effect fuel mileage on your Cummins diesel?
@tootallsvlog1037 жыл бұрын
Significantly. Empty I'm a pretty consistent 22 - 23 at 70 mph. At 63 - 65 with payload and trailer = 7000 lbs, I'm at 11 - 13 mpg depending on head wind.
