League of Legends has seen some massive changes over its lifespan. From champions that don't exist in the game anymore like pre-rework Aatrox and Poppy, entire system overhauls (runes, masteries, etc), and even deleted League of Legends game modes and maps (Twisted Treeline, Crystal Scar Dominion, etc) these are Things Only OG League of Legends Veterans Will Remember.

What season did you guys start playing League? And what are your favorite things that don't exist in the game anymore? I started playing when Yasuo was released and I miss the genuine excitement of seeing new champs released that weren't immediately controversial or "200 years".

played during beta. Glad tons of stuff got fixed (sunfire eve/twitch etc) The reworks i really hate the most is poppy/gp, From very unique style to a more "normal" style of champs. Both where way more macro heavy since you HAD to play good early to become the lategame monsters they where (triforce finished and they became usefull) I was a hard poppy main ever since her release. Played her crit after tri and really had the most fun years in league.

I don't know when I started, but it was around the time Xerath got released. I used to play mostly TT, when I played 5v5 it was usually WW jungle with Madreds Bloodrazor and otherwise Tank, making old Aatrox a natural a obvious choice when he came out. Another thing newer players might not know: Twitch and others with stealth could only be revealed by a trinket or pink wards.

Bro twisted treelines ranked was easy af. We were gold 2 or gold 3 players, but we started grinding to see how far we can get (me, my classmate and his buddy) and we literally for 2 weeks we olny played TT ranked and was about to hit challanger, but the classmates PC died and he had to wait for a little less than a week so he could get his new PC running! And after he could play again we just got lazy and never really pushed that hard for it

Same! Me and my real life friends used to play 3v3 ranked. In fact, we played 3v3 80% of the time. Then they changed the 3v3 map and ruined it, which is why it died. I loved the old OG 3v3 map. We started to play LoL in early 2011, like around February and March.

It wasn't the same. And then they made us grab something in the middle, which sucked. We want to fight, not be grabbing stuff. It was something that gave us like a buff? I don't remember anymore.

Twisted treeline had 2 maps, the one you showed was the "newer" one. The old one had a dragon as a main objective, red/blue buff, many more bushes and overall a more "creepy" aesthetic.

old champ select was more than disgusting and its baffling to this day that it took them so long to change it, but one brightside of such system was that in order to climb you had to know all 5 roles. also, the champ select music was goated and it made you hype af. also one thing missing from the video is random matches showed in main client from either ranked or arams that you could spectate if you wanted. a lot of stuff didnt get mentioned so i think part 2 would be neat.

I started playing back in 2010 around when Malzahar was released. At some point I had purchased every single rune in the game to make some amazingly troll runepages, I think you could get +81 attack damage/ lvl 18 (scaling). Those were the good old days. Whenever Kalista was locked in, I'd insta lock Taric for his point an click stun to ruin her day. But I was definitely an old school Aatrox, Shen and Swain enjoyer. What a wild ride League has been over the years.

One thing I miss, because it was so great for beginner, is a Feature in CHamp select. You could hover over a Champion and get shown a short description for all the Abilitys, the Champ had.

I remember on the ascension gamemode the enemy had heimer camping on some objective area so we decided to avoid that part and don't kill heimer as long a possible so there are moment in that game in which the heimer is so behind in items because the only way to go back to the shop platform is if you die or you have an ability that let's you teleport like tf/galio/tahm kench.

I vaguely remember my brother forcing me to play brand jungle in 2013, no clue what was going on and could barely reach the keyboard, insane that after 4 years of properly playing the game now I'm closing in on masters, I love this game but at the same time hate it, but its cool to see they are slowly bringing life back into the game with arena and somewhat thought-out balance changes recently. Something i remember was leashing in jungle. There was a time when midlane would hit blue, run back and forth where the blue(aggroed by mid) would also just run back and forth allowing the jungler to take it for no damage. Same thing with dragon too

I started playing in 2010. When Kennen was released. And back then my graphics were messed up. So I spent a pretty long time playing on a fully black screen. The only visible things were champions, minions, structures (turrets, fountain, Nexus, etc), jungle camps (when you were close to them) and bushes. Everything that was "not interactive" with the player was black. I had no idea of the map´s shape. And I had no idea of the "Fog of War" either. Was a nice surprise to see the map after a time.

League has changed so much and Dominion use to be a mode where people make customs and play hide and seek. Unfortunately as Riot grew bigger and was bought by Tencent, all they had in mind was $$$. Ive been playing on and off since open beta. Long before there was a que it was just custom games. You had to lvl your account 100% in custom games. It was really cool when you found players of similar skill/vibe you would jam games back to back. Hourglass and deathcap were the same item.

my first league game i was 7 years old and my brother taught me that Rammus is a tank so you need to tank damage for your team, so I would run under enemy tower and watch my health bar drop because i thought that was what i was supposed to do... flash forward years later i had my IGN as "Best Yasuo EUW" ( I was a hardstuck gold 12 year old) and hitting a free challenger or masters on twisted treeline with malph yas combo was the good ol days

The old Poppy was a nightmare to play against imo. Not only did her ultimate block damage, but she also blocked CC from all sources other than her target as well and she could do so for 6/7/8 seconds. Her damage on her Q with triforce was ridiculous and her passive also made her very tanky of nature - halving all damage taken which exceeds 10% of her current HP.

13:20 They removed the AD Stack item, because it was to op. As Mage, you usally also need to handle your Mana. But Autoattacks could be used all the Time... Making AD way moreusefull and snowbalheavy.

Dominion was the best map ever. You could do a custom dominion and play hide and seek and oh boy it was such a banger... If i could bring 1 thing from old league it would be definitely the dominion map

i loved the old rune system with quints and shit but the worst thing about it was the levels of them and how you could easily get noobtrapped into wasting money on level 1 or 2 runes that were just not worth it. it's good they made the onboarding for new players a bit easier but at the cost of a pretty cool system for it's time.

I starded League in a little before season 1 kicked off. I really miss my old main OLD Mordekaiser which i exclusively played during season 3/4/5 i believe, till this day i absolutely hate the rework! Also [Atma's Impaler] in a full tank build was just great fun.

Honorable mention: DARK STAR THRESH MODE Some of the most fun I ever had in the game. Not intense fighting, just some arcade like gameplay with a lot of precision. And the worst thing is, riot could just bring it back with no effort, it's not patch dependend, it doesn't need buffs or nerfs, it was just fair und fun like it was.. BRING IT BACK

Also they removed DFG because Riot has one goal and one goal only…. No one person, no matter how much you want to win, can solo carry a game. Historically, they took a game of Solo Que force you to play a team based game, adjusted match making, and got rid of MMR.

Le blanc with deathfire grasp and you were dead in 0,1 sec 😂 i am missing the twisted treeline map and also the winter summoners rift. Playing support the first years of lol was a pain in the ass,that why nobody wanted to play supp, zero gold earning, using the summoner spell to reveal certain area on the map i dont remember its name. Also i remember playing karthus with revive and ryze building both muramana and archangel staff. And last who can forget playing master yi ap easy peasy pentakill😅
