Now, idk if I’m alone in this. But it’s something that absolutely bothers me, when I’m playing a moment, and I need to quickly restart, but I have to wait a certain amount of time before restarting is an option, drives me CRAZY. At any moment I should be able to restart a moment because I know I didn’t meet the requirement. It’s annoying having to wait a specific amount of time before it’s an option

The ingame progress tracking is absent and inexcusable. You should be able to select what to track and have in-game notifications, i.e. news ticker on the bottom. There isn't other news going on so it'll be a nice sports way to inform players of tasks they're working on when they're completed in-game. I take screenshot and do math before playing and pause to calculate. Dumb!

Like madden, they also need to add all the teams that player played for. This would help theme teams and have more options for those teams. Also as far as gameplay make sure to fix this slider bs that’s been in the game all year. Something they could add is badges to these players. Make it where you can add certain badges depending on overall and player type. For example you can add dead red to players with power but not on players who are contact hitters. This would make the game so much fun.

There really needs to be skilled match making in this game. It sucks for people who aren’t as good at this game that have to go up against a 1000 rated player or someone who goes flawless every other day. Let me play against someone who is around the same ranking as me. And climb the ranks that way. Same thing for guys who are really good at the game. Do they really want play a guy who strikes out every game or do they want to be challenged by a person who is around there rank level. I don’t know if I’m right or not but it makes sense I think

I think they really need to make quirks matter, they need to be like badges in 2k or CFB25 to make the cards play differently, i feel like every card is almost the same. Make really good defenders like Ozzie Smith and Kevin Kiermaier actually feel like they are difference makers. Make hitters that crush fastballs actually scary to throw fastballs to. They need a way to make players feel special and unique.

They need to get rid of certain quirks. Bad ball hitter doesn't work and was only created to fix the ability to get balls outside the strike zones. This created the shrinking of pci on pitches in the zone. They also need to understand timing.

I think what really killed the game this year was the fact that good/better cards were dropped in packs that you could only get by buying them With stubs, before when a pack came out there was an option somewhere to get at least one pack for free, whether it was in a program or conquest map , the option was there to grind for a free pack & now it was like no….. u want a chance at gettin this card? Buy the pack . The other thing for those who love flipping is so many more non sellable cards, go back to making everything sellable . Lastly for events, they should make that like an “arcade mode” where there are silly things like players wit bobble heads , or after 3 k’s pitched or 3 consecutive hits, like nba jam, your on fire , or a team build of only pitchers , or let us use multiple cards of the same player (like an outfield with 3 Griffey cards) Just ideas for events Lastly , similar to that HR challenge that got us packs , give us a challenge (whether it’s a community challenge or personal challenge) to do missions to unlock a specific card .

If sets and seasons return nothing can save this game even if it’s free on game pass we won’t last long. That’s first and a requirement. I’d like to see more modes like a casual event with 3 innings where you can use any card and a weekend league or limited type of games mode with 6 innings. Gameplay is fine, they just need to work better on modes and the store and the content plan.

They need to bring my career missions back from mlb 17. Having some sort of constant background progression for just completing challenges almost like COD was so awesome and they were great rewards like chunks of stubs. If they pair that with the mlb 20 xp reward path you would always have something going on in the background while earning cards or playing other modes. (Idk if it’s a hot take but I also liked the ticket counter too just another way to earn players) I also think they need to do a better job of differentiating between different flashbacks versions of cards. like Juan Soto has like 5 diamond cards and they all look the same. It might be extremely Nitpicky but change his pants, change his bat color, change his equipment alter his stance idk do something so they all don’t look the same… this can be said for dozens of other players too. I also don’t care about how big name legends, just give me quantity at this point. I’ll take dozens of niche guys like the Mike napolis or Mike Lowell’s of the world, just pump the game full of new faces

I think they need to change the matching on BR. It's tough for an average player to play a world series player In the first game. It takes the fun right out of it. It's like i'm a feeder to the better players. I don't mind playing World Series players.But I would rather play better players the when I get more wins . Not some world series player right off the hop. Also in BR I would like to see the the players BR record instead of the ranked record.

I agree with your take on TA as it is, but I don't think it needs to be scrapped, but rather repurposed. Make that the place where team captains are the focal point. They can have it follow the power creep this way as well (1st TA has pretty low overall captains and they increase with each TA drop). This would also help solve the problem of not being able to use best version of a particular card because we'd have multiple captain options per team by the time we get to 99s. The boosts they give don't even need to change, just who the captains are and their overalls so they remain usable through the entire game cycle.

As someone who doesn’t always mash on hall of fame. I’d love a competitive mode on hall of fame to improve on. There’s such a difference between online and vs cpu when playing on hall of fame and higher.

Another idea is make team affinity more individual team based. Add individual teams that have multiple cards for each team, not the entire division. It would be more fun especially for people who like building theme teams.

Here’s my take on it, I’ve been playing mlb the show for years and the introduction of sets and season has quite possibly been the biggest and worst change I’ve ever seen happen to the game. Restricting cards to a certain time frame in the game is annoying when we’re spending our time just unlocking the cards. Moments are fun I enjoy them, but with the xp missions being a mandatory requirement to finish the program and unlock the card, I’ve ignored all of the other programs besides team affinity because the xp player grind for every single program is not only a headache it’s a huge time waster. We don’t want xp missions anymore we just want moments and that’s it. I understand they wanna bump up play time but honestly if the game wasn’t strictly grind then they could reach their goal. Next, online ranked is so broken, servers are literal garbage. Finding a game takes forever and a lot of quitters freeze off’s poor server reliability. I’ve experienced so many of these issues it gives me headaches. Next is hitting, the hitting is fine for the most part except for foul balls & checked swings. Also I heavily think we need a custom Diamond dynasty practice mode where we can use our lineups test players etc like a scrimmage match. That’s my take on it that’s my personal opinion and I hope they heart us because we need to be heard and we want a game that’s not consistently the same every year!!

One thing you didn’t touch on. If you KNOW your legend pool is severely limited this year you need to butter your bread with current players. I’m a Brewers fan who went from watching 6-7 games a year to watching 150 this year. Turang was a fringe all star. Never got an upgraded card. Bryan Hudson was the most dominant non-closer reliever this year until the end of July, zero upgrades. Willy Adames only has a 96. Arguably the best catcher all year, William Contreras has ZERO upgrades this year. All year I’ve been waiting for a 99 Yelich. He finally drops with TA and it’s a Marlins Yelich, and because I can’t change the team chemistry like in Madden he’s absolutely useless to my theme team. Only to get ANOTHER useless Brewers 1B in the giant Richie Sexson that absolutely nobody can hit with. Tobias Myers, contender for NL ROTY, zero cards. Outside of CBrev, I am 100% convinced this content team just doesn’t even watch baseball. This is supposed to be a LIVE CONTENT GAME. Where are the live players playing out of their mind? But if you’re lucky enough to be late enough in the season/set cycle, and Joe Blow happens to get called up for your team and he hits a home run, guess what? Congrats on the 99 for your team. The rest of the guys playing out of their mind that have been mainstays for the team all year? Nah, those don’t matter.

The biggest thing I need to see is gameplay changes and I’m talking swing animations. This game has about 5 different swing animations and they’ve been that way for forever. The Japanese game, “professional baseball spirits 2025” swing animations are what the shows animations need to start looking like. If you haven’t watched any gameplay, I will say, whenever the ball goes into play, the game looks kinda clunky. Doesn’t really matter to me. The show is a better game but the most important part for me is the swing animations and the Japanese game 100% has the show beat in that category. We can talk about diamond dynasty all day but the gameplay has gotten repetitive. Basically ever since this game has come out. They need to make it current gen exclusive and I think the gameplay could be fixed.

Maybe this is a crazy idea but for ranked, they should have the grind to 900 by difficulty, so a different ranked seasons progression for All Star, HOF, and Legend difficulties, with the rewards getting better for each difficulty. I think HOF is perfect but as an average player Legend is just not fun 😂 could be a way to cater to different skill levels. Overall though they need to beef up the ranked rewards all the way through. Can get some of the best cards in the game by grinding mindless moments but playing ranked you need to spend hours and hours to get to 100 points in the program, makes no sense

You hit the nail on the head with about everything. The one reason I quit playing ranked because the rewards and the games take to long to play. I made it to 980 in 2020 and I quit because I was like why keep playing it not worth the time and there is no good rewards after that. They need to make repeatable rewards in ranked like they do in mini seasons or something like that. I would play the hell out of ranked if they do that. They need to make a casual ranked mode with rewards bad or something along the lines like that. Mini seasons needs revamped bad. They need to make it to where you can play 7inn or 9 inn games and make it feel like you are actually playing a season not just some random game mode. And they need to make live series card more important and the same with theme teams too.

They really need to find a way to release content on multiple days. Just releasing everything on Friday is lazy and getting old. Have Monday, Wednesday and Friday releases with a “champs” type mode starting Friday night and going til Sunday for huge rewards with it on Hall of Fame like you mentioned. Also feel like going back to collecting 30 award, sig series, rookie, cards to get a huge award card is a lot more fun and strategic than what they went to with just collecting all of the cards. Spreading the cards out between multiple game modes and having to get them all or use stubs to get them was so much better. They could have an insane reward behind one of the collections and make one or multiple of the cards needed to complete it behind a Hall of Fame weekend league type mode. But make the rewards sellable and repeatable. If you can win 16 of 20 games on Hall of Fame multiple times in a weekend you should be able to make an insane amount of stubs for someone that can’t do it but wants the card to complete the huge reward. That would make them actually think before just releasing cards too and that may just be too much.

I always agreed that you spend more time acquiring cards than using them. What if at the end of a player program they added an “unlimited bonus rewards” circle, like there is at the end of the reward path. Rather than XP it would be like 2,000 or 3,000 total PXP of the players in a program (i.e McCutchen, Blackmon, Greinke etc. in the Career Tribute program), and once you hit it you do the randomized reward thing. It would never stop accumulating and it may incentivize people to use more of the program cards

Sets and seasons would work if they ACTUALLY get a Santa clause list of new players/ legends imo. Ex. Set/ szn 1 we get 97 big papi then Set 2/szn 2 then we get a 92 one and it’s the same grind but worse card just seems stupid lol. MLB since 22 you been grinding for cards to redo it again for worser versions or maybe better in the next just seems dumb. BR program should have missions just like RS. It shouldn’t be BR program player-locked and then they don’t have to give you guaranteed rounds with each card. Totally agree with the sentiment that sets and seasons didn’t kill the game any earlier than it already would organically. Like you said, it’s just a cycle. It’s an actual job at this point. You clock in, do the same thing, earn your rewards, then clock out. It’s why other UT games are also steadily decreasing in appeal. No one wants to have to come home from their real job and clock in for their video game job. Eventually, the excitement of a new game cycle wears off and that’s why the game does earlier and earlier every year. And as sad as it sounds, I too agree that TA should be gotten rid of. Or at least reduced back to just 3 times per year at most. You can have Game Launch TA, ASG TA, and Finest TA. That helps space out the “legends” so much more to where you don’t feel like they are lacking as much because they don’t have to give guys like Matt Moore a retro finest card. Lastly, bring back the big collections instead of season collections. It is so boring of just collect any card from such and such season until you hit the magic number. It just cheapens the value of all the cards and it makes the collection rewards seem like less of an accomplishment and that less actual collecting was needed.

Game needs weekend tourneys in game. Just sign up for a time and show up with a reward path to a card or two. Allows for the grind to not feel like a grind and cards will be in the shop not at an outrageous price. Ranked past 900 for sure needs something like a stub voucher or something. Sets and seasons gotta go. Just has not worked. WBC or collab with the Japanese version of the game please man. So many good players could be in this game that just are not. Draft ranked would also be great. So many good modes they just don’t do and sometimes i don’t feel like playing the game just because my two choices are Ranked or BR. BR sucks because you can’t use good cards on a low difficulty which just exposes the gameplay flaws like foul balls. And ranked is terrible when you play on HoF/legend against people with bad connections or not wanting to sweat so much. Rant over. But the game has never had more potential that they just don’t capitalize on.

I immediately can't start saying what i would change or want to see in the game because i recognize that im geuinely bad at the game, have extremely bad internet, and im also playing on last gen Xbox, and i never end up playing much online because of those three factors, so anything i say should basically be null and void because its honestly a skill issue that i suck and my internet does too. I was basically playing this game when it came out and then stopped until S2 came out and i started to grind like heck, but then S3 comes out, with all these new programs and cards and TA and it's intimidating to do. And i dont want to start trying to play online games because it's not rewarding when im so bad that i strike out 20 times, the ball skips itself into the zone, and i lose. I cant even finish the new Postseason program because im so bad i cant do the moments, nor the missions, because my connection will also just hiccup and boot me out of Diamon Dynasty even if im not playing an online game. Idk, skill issue on my part, ill waste another 60 bucks on the standard version of the game next year if its not on game pass again. Another day has been OhBlessed by the OhKing uploading though ❤

spend moree time grinding cards then using them. Nailed it! Enjoyed the video. From a casual, less skilled and offline persepective.... Seasons/Sets are awful. Just let players use whatever cards they have! Mini-seasons - as an offline player, I don't want to play "god squads". Add "live series" teams and I'll play the mode. Otherwise, it's a hard pass. Conquest - meh. I no longer do the more time consuming maps. As a less skilled player (Vet/AS diff), it just takes to long and isn't fun. Showdowns - difficult and frustating for my skill level. The [repeated] stub cost and having to start over every time isn't worth the time. Besides, it isn't FUN. I rarely touch the cheesy mode. Gameplay - can they fix every CPU pitcher spamming/tunneling pitches and constantly painting corners regardless of ratings? Just lazy game design. A quick mention of Franchise mode - SDS....FIX THE DAMN CPU BULLPEN LOGIC!!!! It's been like 5 years now (maybe longer).

Sets and Seasons attaching to Power Creep just didn’t work this year. I don’t think the content structure was that bad but it definitely had so many ups and downs; Season Awards programs at least were improved in later seasons but it’s tideous grinding PXP and single player missions at every week, than the monthly awards structure, also not obtaining a free pack card in the program makes cards very difficult to obtain. Captains however, STOP making as an individual card series, we’ve seen some lineups with captain on bench glitch method, and have shown boosting attributes without getting to use the captain which it’s a non-99. George Springer/Joey Gallo/Corbin Carroll/Rafael Devers cannot fuse their 99 cards with their captain cards together, at least create an implementation making everyone a captain and choose a boost criteria, if they’re going to continue with captains. Game needs to stay out of previous gens (switch is excluded but would run its 3rd party/separate servers), and in game graphics needs revamping which it’s been reused for almost 8-10 years (guessing it’s MLB 16), hopefully it would not affect gameplay. Need to go next gen only atp. 4-5 years into the PS5 life cycle and still playing on PS4 graphics is actually ridiculous. Graphics, in my opinion, are also a big reason why the game feels the same, recycled, and why it gets so stale so quickly year after year.

I play Franchise and it's been totally neglected. You can't even edit contracts in Franchise. They literally refuse to let you play the way you want. Why does it matter if I want to update contracts. I don't want to have to restart a Franchise all the time while wanting to have updated, realistic contracts. Focus on Franchise and not the rest of this crap you put in the game. It's not always about making money or is it?

They should update pitcher motions. You look at pitching comparisons from real life to the game it looks nothing like the irl motions. Its hella botched. If SDS drops the ball by making this game still on old gen then the game will look the same graphic wise. I really want the game to look graphically better. Looks like im playing a ps3 game

If programs were just moments that’s such a pointless program. I know you want that because you want the cards ASAP and do little to no work to get them. I think it was the Mets/Brewers series and seeing 5 straight moments to hit a HR in one AB is so lazy and not creative. The pitching ones are so easy because of how we have figured out how AI can’t catch up to a certain sequence. That would really be an ender for this game

Chev I love your videos but your first point does not make any sense or most of the player base that cant make World Series so that point is basically for players who go past 900 to play more where most of the player base can't even make it there. So that's not going to people playing this game. I think most players who make World Series once in a blue moon like myself are not going to care play on legend for more rewards.

I think the outer PCI should be removed out right. There should no reason why a player who slams their pci can make contact with a pitch because the outer part touched the ball. It's garbage lol and fire all the DEI hires for releasing shit content

They made the game about card collecting just like in Real Baseball😂 It's their cash cow! Y2Y saves and roster carryovers need to return. Franchise mode is a joke. NHL and NBA 2K now have customizable franchise mode. These guys are fucking jokers!

I think we should have a LHP and RHP starting lineup, but the 13 hitter cards are the same so you can inter-change the bench, positions, and your 1-9,because it’s to the point where switch hitters are so meta that’s all you run. Now you can run platoons without losing all of your bench batters in the first 3 innings and give some other cards the love, instead of chipper, posada, and ketel on everyone’s lineup. Switch hitters are always gonna be great but this will help give love to other underrated cards.
