Hi, It is not legal to use an E-scooter in England (probably rest of UK) unless it is rented and the rented ones are restricted to specific areas. To rent one you need a drivers licence.
@stephenlee59299 ай бұрын
I think the time thing, your British person was probably confused, as some Europeans (Dutch, probably other too) say Half To rather than Half Past, so Half to Eight is 7:30, where Half past eight is 8:30, I believe they us both structures in Germany. Re the toilet flush, we have many variants, the one you mentioned is probably old and some what faulty (worn), but is not uncommon.

The tilt turn windows are I think originally German invention/design and I first came across them over 40 years ago, if opened correctly they give more than adequate ventilation, also simple to use
@helenwood84828 ай бұрын
No, half past 8 is 8:30.

That window you showed also, where it tilted into the house is calle a ''tilt and turn'' if you turn the handle fully, it will aslo open to the house to clean, these are expensive and not fitted as standard in houses, but maybe fitted in blocks of flats, where a window cleaner could not reach

Hi evelina, the windows open that way for a few reasons, and there are different types, for one thing they seal better to keep te heat. with usually a 3 lever lock, which pulls the window tight, second, that windo you described is an easy clean window, normally upstairs, so you can clean inside an outside, no need for window cleaner, also some of the windows full open like that, for fire escape, they have to be easy to get through, thats law, many of them windows, do have child lock as well

Europe is late on the E-Scooter trend. They were very popular about 10 years ago in UK. You can rent by your phone. But now councils removed them because they are not friendly to the environment in production and don't contribute to net 0 goals. And yes, British produce like apples, etc.. is very expensive. British farms have very strict regulations in food production that increase costs for farmers, so groceries that are made in England are expensive and its cheaper to import from Europe or somewhere else
@itsevelinakp9 ай бұрын
I actually still have never used the e-scooter but also I can’t imagine London with many many scooters as they are so dangerous bc most ppl use them irresponsibly. I thought mybe that’s the case for fruits .

"Half past eight" means 8.30 in all of the UK (and surely everywhere else). "Cupboard" is pronounced "cub-ud". In the USA you might say "closet" but that is America for you... They also say "faucet" when they mean "tap" and "sidewalk" ehen they mean "pavement" but it doesn't mean that they are bad people, just that they don't speak our language properly. We forgove them because they generally mean well. And if you go to places where they sell drinks for £9 each, then either you are going to the wrong places or you are drinking treble whiskies/fancy cocktails. Where I live in North Yorkshire a pint of beer (20 fluid ounces, about 558mls, not 16 fluid ounces as in the USA) costs about £4.25, but in Wetherspoons it eould be more like £3 a pint. London & Manchester might not be representative of the whole country. Thanks for the amusing video though.
