I think even when you make friends, the cultural differences also come as a shock, because you realize that some things you took for granted in Nigeria, are not the same. Like showing up at your friend's place just to gist. Until you make that mental adjustment, it sometimes feels like the new friendships are fake or not substantial enough.

Exactly!! I also noticed that meeting at home is not common practice. People prefer to meet outside on coffee shops and pubs.

Hello amara! Thanks for this vital and informative discussion. Actually I'm just planning to apply for lithuania visa but I'm being skeptical about the kind of visa I'm choosing. Please can we hook up for private chat?

Hello, it depends on what you are coming for. You need a student visa for school, work permit for work and tourist visa to visit

This is a great video and it is nice that you decided to start the "support" group. Definitely need to have these honest conversations about moving abroad and talk about our feelings without fear that we will come off as ungrateful. Well done Amarachi

I'd say best thing to do when you move away is to find some kind of club to join, smth you really like so that you will have a lot in common with people 🙂 and kill loneliness. Financial aspect is always tricky but it should be relatively easy for English speakers.

I was also given this advice on Tuesday. Now I'm going to look for a zumba class to join. Or even a book club. Thanks for the suggestion
