I love salads 🥗 One of my main "go to" meals. One of my favorites is getting hot giardiniera made from an olive oil base and use that as a dressing along with some tomatoes & cucumbers. Yum 😋 👌

The elbow thing is 1000% true and here's how I know: when my kid was like 7-8 years old, he heard the statistic from SOMEWHERE, and tried it, and got a kick out of it being true. Which meant it became a THING. Right? Because kids. So any time I wasn't paying attn, he would lick my freaking elbow, and I wouldn't know it had happened until he started giggling hysterically right behind me. Finding him there laughing then I'd know... he'd done it again lol, and sure enough my fucking elbow would be wet. He did it when we were standing in line to check out at the grocery or in a store in the mall, he'd do it while I was cooking, he'd do it while I was standing outside his school talking to other parents. ANY CHANCE HE COULD FIND LOL. He's 21 years old now and stilll thinks it's hilarious that he used to lick my elbow all the time without me ever feeling it.

Erik, Colleen i honestly think you guys would benefit from one day a week get out of the house and do something together without kids. Hire a nanny or grandma someone to watch the kids from morning to afternoon or evening at the house. And also dedicate time for therapy. Maybe an hour every two weeks. I know there’s a lot but i just really want to see you guys strive for your own mental health. All coming from a place of love. You two are doing awesome but i just feel like it’s okay to get time for yourselves as well, in the midst of this crazy world and caring for your beautiful children.❤️

About the ant smelling segment: I took an animal communication class last semester that was super fascinating, and I might have an answer? Ants release something called "oleic acid" when they die, which sends chemical signals to the other ants in the colony that an ant is dead, and the live ants will actually pick it up and carry it out of the nest to the "garbage disposal" (sometimes other predatory ants will take these dead ants back with them for food). Ants rely on pheromones more than any other sense (and have super poor vision), so the chemical signals at death might be the scent that people are talking about when they step on an ant hill. I've never smelled ants 😅 BUT I'm thinking this might be the cause.... This scientist also created synthetic oleic acid in the lab and put it on live ants, and the other ants kept carrying these ants away and dumping them in the garbage disposal. The worker ants didn't even pay attention to it moving above them, they just smelled the chemicals and that's all they need to yeet them 😆 So to sum up they release smells to notify other ants they've gone to heaven and need to be removed so they don't rot up the nest

Colleen! Fellow mom of a toddler here. The part where you talked about Flynn seeing two sides to you guys, like Eric vs Dada. That’s actually a super normal thing toddlers do and a part of mental development. They can’t yet understand that happy mom vs angry mom vs mom in public etc is all the same person. So it’s easier for them to see different parts of your personality as characters rather then one whole person. One of my first memories is doing this with my own mom. Love you guys!

Lol, I would love to hear you guys interview an anti-diet dietician. They are usually happy about you having whatever dressing you like for salad, it helps you digest it and absorb more nutrients. Also a Big Mac and a salad are comparing apples to oranges nutritionally. Listen to your body and its cravings, don't feel like you have to eat salads to be healthy. Also, your body will change throughout your life and that's okay. ❤️

I guess they did this podcast before Colleen saw the comments on her vlog about how she doesn't listen to Erik when he's talking about his pain because hers is always worse than his. She is the biggest one-upper I've ever seen, especially if it's about negative things. His pain from his wisdom teeth didn't matter because it wasn't as bad as a caesarian, his back pain was no big deal because she carried twins and her thumb hurt, his depression can't have a name like hers because he didn't go through childbirth, just witnessed his wife have an emergency c-section, babies in the NICU, the stress of newborn twins, sleep deprivation, etc. Her pain and suffering are always, always worse than anyone else on earth. How does she not see this? I love her vlogs and this podcast, but c'mon, Colleen, you have to know you are worse than anyone when it comes to one-upping.

i completely agree!! both of their pain, traumas, and feelings are sooo valid and deserve to be heard and listened to! although erik didnt go through the physical labor of it all, u can tell he cares deeply about his family so having to watch his wife go through something so difficult and most likely feeling sorta helpless is difficult and draining in itself. additionally, like you said, erik also had to see the twins in the nicu. mother and father alike, that is something so traumatic!! pain is pain and traumas shouldn’t be compared, especially by your own significant other.

Even if an overdressed salad is calorically the same as a big mac, the salad with more vegetables and more vitamins is inherently "healthier". Honestly, everything is healthy in moderation, have 3 salads a week and 3 big macs, or whatever makes you happy. Plus, salads aren't the only healthy foods out there!

Erik! I work out with my baby! I just hold him and do squats and lift him- I also nanny another baby so I’ll throw one in a chest carrier and the other on my hip or in my arms and you can lift them and dance around and I find it’s a great workout.

I can’t smell them from a distance but as a kid I squished one on my finger and smelt it and it stunk. No idea why I did that but I was a kid lol. I thought everyone could smell them if they had one up close.
