I think the boulders should come in waves, and there should also be waves that are just snow, which you can't dodge but you can hide from--like the places to hide from the boulders. So if you weren't in a safe spot, you get thrown off your feet and carried all the way back down to the start, maybe taking damage. If you did hide from the snow, you get buried, but not moved. When the snow wave is over, you have a few seconds to dig yourself out (melee attack or something like that) and try to make it a little further before the next wave. The waves could be random, so you can't just memorize the pattern. If that's too hard, the interval between the waves could be not random.
