I know what you mean. When I lived in Seoul I rode the subway everyday and it just felt like a very regular part of my routine. When I'm in a new city the experience is definitely more stimulating.

A few kilometres north of Batu Caves is the seven-tiered Kanching Waterfall in lush forest. A walking distance north of KL Sentral is the National Museum (Muzium Negara) and further up is the Lake Garden botanical park with bird park and orchid garden. One can walk south from KL Sentral, jump up the Monorail to see temples along the ride and stop at Berjaya Times Square to enjoy its indoor roller coaster.

If you go to the suburbs up up to wangsa maju youd get a great view of the skyline and you can always turn back , KL is like a bowl, the suburbs are at the lip of the bowl, hence the view from the suburb is always great

Malaysia is a bit more expensive than other SE Asian countries (Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, etc) but is relatively cheap compared to Canada/US/Europe/Japan/Korea. Depending on your travel tastes, you could travel from anywhere from $30 a day (ultra cheap) to $70 (a few more comforts) per day.

Nice video guys, I have a quick question. I am heading to Malaysia in feb and I am planning on visiting the Batu caves whilst there. I found an excursion on Viator. Think it was £18 something. It included transfers to and from your hotel, tickets to the caves and also stops off in little India which I would like to see whilst there. Would you say thats a good deal or should I just make the journey myself?
@Aingeheuddf10 жыл бұрын
i'm from kl malaysia.. it is cheaper for you to take the train in kl, you can google for several type of train in kl (lrt,putra,komuter,) and plan your trip.. try to avoid taxi if you can.. if you really need to take taxi pls find the one that use meter.. in kl it is easy to make the journey yourself. most of the train cover all the attraction points.
@NomadicSamuelTravelChannel10 жыл бұрын
babyshambles93 definitely do the journey by yourself if you're not pressed for time! It's easy to get there by metro and you can visit the Batu Caves for free.
@babyshambles9310 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I thought as much. When I saw your video and saw you can take the train straight there I thought twice about the excursion. How long did the train take, out of interest?. Thanks Azrim, Yeah its the same as when I went to Bangkok, always use the meter.

I suppose it is like any other city in that there are a few main attractions and many other things to explore if you stay longer. We didn't get a chance to do as much (or shoot video) as we would have liked but it is a city with enough attractions to warrant visiting.

Hey there, great video. Am planning a 4 day trip to KL in Oct - meeting my folks (6 adults and one 2yo) there for a break. How long were you there? I don't want to book a tour so was planning to use the Hop on/off bus to do the local attractions and public transport for Batu caves and hopefully something more accessible. Do you think that's feasible? Any recommendations? ps: Any ideas about Brisdale Hotel? Thanks from NZ:)

I have a question for the lady of the video> I've heard that women who go to malasya ( specially alone) get stared a lot in malasya, specially if they are showing shoulders and the knees. Di you had any problems of that kind?
@NomadicSamuelTravelChannel10 жыл бұрын
Belu M. No, we didn't have any problems with that but at the same time we did visit larger cities such as KL, Malacca and Georgetown. Maybe in more smaller and conservative cities that receive less tourists that might be more of an issue.
@aniscrazyfangirl215910 жыл бұрын
if you go anywhere that has some kind of rural area like a kampung or a kebun = farm with a lot of old house's then yeah there might be some who'll stare's but only because it's not so normally seen there don't mind it to much
